I, on the other hand, was completely dumbfounded.
I combed through the original storyline over and over but found no mention of this twist. In the original plot, after being kicked
out by the Jordans, my character refused to accept her fate and constantly clashed with Melanie.
Eventually, the Jordans faced a business crisis and called me back, arranging a marriage alliance to save the company.
However, after the marriage, I could not have children, my husband cheated, and I was left to deal with a slew of illegitimate
children. The stress ultimately led to my death.
Now, I was having triplets?
In that case, it could not possibly have been my fault back then! It had to be the fault of the husband I married!
Otherwise, why would these three men hit the bullseye in one shot?
After the news of me having triplets, the three men became even more protective, treating me like a rare giant treasure and
shielding me from any potential disturbance–especially from the Jordans.
Yet despite their vigilance, the Jordans still managed to find an opening.
When Melanie and Edward suddenly appeared in front of me, I scowled. “What are you doing here?”
The two of them froze for a moment, their eyes darting to my belly. Melanie’s face contorted with fury.
She pointed accusingly at me. “Eliza, have you no shame? Pregnant out of wedlock, and you’re still clinging to Mr. Griffin?”
Edward wore an expression that seemed full of concern for me. “Eliza, you’re still young. There’s no need to have children so early. Why not… terminate the pregnancy?”
Terminate?

I had painstakingly carried these babies for months, watching them grow from tiny dots to little beings with hands and feet. Did
they think that was easy for me?
A wave of anger surged through me. “Mind your own damn business!”
Edward’s face twisted with irritation. “Even though you’ve left the Jordans, as long as you carry our family name, you’re still one
of us. What will people think if this gets out? We can’t afford this embarrassment, and we certainly don’t need children of
questionable origin. You’re getting rid of them.”
His words made my blood boil.
What did he mean by me carrying the Jordans‘ name?
Had they forgotten that my biological parents were also surnamed Jordan? That was the reason why Melanie had not changed her
name after returning!
Plus, since when did their reputation have anything to do with me? Their dwindling fortune held no value for me now.
I glared at them, my eyes filled with fury. “Get out. I don’t want to see either of you.”
Melanie tugged at her brother’s sleeve. “Eliza, no matter what, Mom and Dad raised you for so many years. Now that the Jordans
are in trouble, you can’t just stand by and do nothing.
“Why don’t you sweet–talk Mr. Griffin into helping the Jordans? If you do, Mom and Dad will welcome you back, and you’ll have
an easier time marrying into the Griffin family.”
She tried to mask it, but I could still see the resentment and jealousy in her eyes.
Her words made me laugh. So, they were resorting to moral coercion now? The Jordans had to be really desperate.
Even so, what the hell did that have to do with me?
