Chapter 50
My father, having just wrapped up a billion–dollar deal, took this perfect opportunity to step in with a proud smile. “That’s right. As my son, only the best woman in the country is worthy of him.”
“As for those three girls–they were orphans I took in out of pity. The idea of choosing one of them to marry my son is just simply ridiculous!”
Even so, doubt lingered on many of the guests‘ faces.
A few of my father’s longtime business associates spoke up, concerns etched in their expressions.
“Meredith’s abilities are undeniable, but that incident a few years back…“}
“Exactly. Everyone knows she’s now paralyzed and infertile. If your son marries her, she won’t be able to bear children–who’s going to inherit the family fortune then?“}
“Even if we doubt those three girls could produce heirs strong enough to uphold the Gray legacy, at least they could give birth. Shouldn’t that be the bare minimum?”
To put it kindly, Meredith was once the capital’s little princess. To speak plainly, she was now seen as a burden–a “useless” woman with an inheritance destined to fall into someone else’s hands.
So why couldn’t that “someone else” be me?%
From the moment Sherina uttered those scornful words earlier, I realized something.
Even though I was the rightful heir of the Gray family, no one truly believed I would be the one to inherit it.
So if that was the case, why not choose a woman with strength, status, and influence–someone powerful, yet unable to wrest the Gray fortune from my hands?”

Meanwhile, Sherina was still busy comforting the shaken Warren. She frowned in disgust as she glanced at a new message on her phone.”
[Come back now! Calum just announced his fiancée! If you don’t, you’ll regret it!]
Mariah and Cherry received similar messages–all sent by people close to them.&
Sherina instinctively wanted to turn off her phone and ignore it, but her mind kept spinning.
‘Why would they say I’ll regret it?‘ She wondered.”
‘Could it be… Calum chose Mariah or Cherry?‘
She stared at the other two for a long time before finally texting back.”
[Who did Calum choose?]
A photo came through immediately.
Sherina’s pupils constricted sharply, her face twisting in disbelief.”
At the same time, Mariah and Cherry both gasped.”
“What the hell?!“}
“Calum chose her? That paralyzed, infertile cripple?!“}
“That’s impossible, right?”
Warren, still leaning against Sherina, briefly flashed a look of satisfaction. But his voice remained soft and pitiful.
“Maybe the young master is just angry. You left his birthday banquet for me. He must be really upset.“}
“Why don’t you go back? I’ll be fine on my own…“§
As he spoke, tears rolled down his cheeks.
The three women instantly softened.
