Chapter 15%
Time crawled by, each minute stretching into an eternity.
Whether driven by guilt or some deeper, unspoken feeling, the two brothers of the Ferrero family threw everything they had into finding herk
Despite the old man’s protests, they refused to relentl
At first, Kyle and Gwen, Colette’s parents, were taken aback by the relentless efforts of the brothers.
With enthusiasm, they welcomed Camille into the Moore family, throwing a lavish banquet to announce that, from now on, she would be their daughter.
Even though Magnus and Spencer ignore her completely, Camille uses every trick in the book to win them over
The family seemed to thrive, their bonds appearing strong and harmonious.}
But as time wore on, the shine began to fade.}
Though Camille had a knack for making people happy, Kyle and Gwen weren’t just adopting her for emotional reasons; they had their eyes on the future and the family’s glory.
After Colette left, a mountain of problems began to pile up at the company.
Kyle and Gwen had assumed that Camille would slip seamlessly into the role with her polished resume and intimate knowledge of the Ferrero family.
They believed that Colette’s departure would barely make a ripple.
But in reality, much of Camille’s shining resume had been fabricated by Magnus and Spencer, who had gone out of their way to help her, feeling sympathy for her situation 3
Though she worked at the Ferrero family’s company, Camille had never truly been hands–on with the business.
Within just half a month, the losses between the two families were staggering.
After repeated assurances from Camille, Kyle, and Gwen, under mounting pressure from the shareholders, reluctantly decided to give her another chance!!
She had worked tirelessly to shed the label of being the nanny’s daughter and had finally gained the status she so desperately wanted; she simply couldn’t afford to be abandoned by Kyle and Gwen E
So, Camille had to swallow her pride once again, seeking out Magnus and Spencer, hoping they would help her once more, just as they had countless times before.
But it was clear the two brothers of the Ferrero family no longer had the will to assist her.
The longer Colette had been gone, the more they realized how much of a role she had played in their lives.
The two families had been intertwined for generations. Since they were children, Colette had always been there by their side.
They had known her for so long, grown accustomed to the quiet sacrifices she made for them, that they no longer recognized who the truly important person was
With Colette absent from their world, they were suddenly struck by the emptiness that had settled in their hearts.
There was no one left who would consider their every need and prioritize their interests as if they were her own.
Colette had been like a silent, steadfast mountain, always there, always strong.
Though she wasn’t as charming and coy as Camille, Colette made people feel deeply at ease, offering quiet comfort and silently bearing the weight of everything
They had never once thought that the mountain could crumble.
Desperately, they searched for Colette across various countries, hoping for even a glimpse of her name, a figure, anything that could lead them to her Each potential clue triggered them, sending people rushing to investigate.
teach time, the results were nothing but disappointment
When Camille arrived at the Ferrero house, the two brothers were talking with a tour guide in a small distant country
s what you said true? Is that person called Colette?” Magnus asked, his voice tinged with hope.
The guide sent over a photo, and in the comer was the familiar side profile they both knew so well.
Magnus’s face immediately lit up, excitement surging through him. I’m going to find her now!”
But the quede’s next words were a cold splash of reality
“But she was here two months ago, and after that, she traveled to another country”
Magnus collapsed helplessly onto the sofa, his body sinking in defeat. Spencer, usually so composed, now wore an expression of desper that was foreign to him
As they sat there, broken, Camille, who had taken a step forward, faltered, her confidence slipping. Fear crawled up her spine, and she hesitated, pulling back slightly
But the two brothers saw her nonetheless
Magnus, who had once begged for her attention, who had once gone out of his way to be with her, suddenly yanked her by the collar, hu eyes bloodshot with fury. His voice cracked with anger as he shouted, “Camille! How dare you come back! If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t be tangled in this mess with Colette”s
Spencer, who had once treated
the most precious thing in i his world, now looked at her with cold, unfeeling eyes. “So, you finally

drove Colette away. Are you proud of yourself?“}
“What do you want from us this time?”
Camille felt as if the air had been sucked from her lungs, the grip around her throat suffocating. She wanted to beg for their help with the company’s troubles, but the harsh words hanging in the air choked her voice. Fear rooted her to the spot
“Do you think we’re fools? That you can just wave your hand, and we’ll follow your every whim?”
“We asked Grandpa. He said the idea of making the firstbom of the next generation the heir was yours!”
Tears blurred Camille’s vision as she shook her head in frantic denial, but the two brothers, relentless, dragged her toward the hall.
“You were trying to drive a wedge between us and Colette! You wanted us to choose between you and her!”
Her heart pounded in her chest, but before she could even speak, they shoved her to her knees in front of the tombstone of their long–deceased child.
She slammed her head against the stone, the force of it splintering the silence. Blood trickled down from the gash, staining her face.
Neither of the brothers showed an ounce of pity. Spencer, his eyes colder than ice, thrust a divorce agreement at her.
“Once, we were blinded and chose you.”
“But now… I can tell you with complete certainty that you’re not worth a fraction of Colette
