Hearing Lucian’s familiar voice, Colette bit her tongue, forcing herself to stay conscious.
With all her remaining strength, she broke free from Magnus and Spencer’s grasp. Her exhausted, weak body was caught by Lucian, who immediately steadied her.
“In broad daylight, and you dare drug someone like this? Do you know that’s a crime?”
Magnus trembled with fury, his glare aimed at the two of them.
“Colette, is it because of him that you refuse to return?” he spat.
Spencer’s face darkened with barely contained rage. “You should know the Ferrero family, if you’re not afraid of death, feel free to sue us!“) “Now, let go of her!
Lucian, usually calm and easygoing, had transformed into someone fierce, his tone cold and unyielding.
“This is Canada, not a place where you can act recklessly. I’ve already called the police.”
The shrill sound of sirens cut through the air to punctuate his words.
Magnus ground his teeth in frustration. I’ll remember you. The next time we meet, you’d better still be alive to say those words.” Lucian remained unfazed, standing firm and unshaken.

Colette dug her nails into her palms to keep herself from collapsing, the pain keeping her alert.3
