Chapter 22%
The Moore and Ferrero families had long been intertwined, each holding onto the other’s most guarded secrets.!!
In the past, Colette had buried those secrets deep, all for the future of the Moore family
But when her biological parents chose Camille as their daughter, that bond was severed once and for all.
Colette would no longer sacrifice herself to protect the Moore family.
“They don’t have much influence in the Ferrero familly. Whatever they’ve done, they’ve likely been pushed into it,” she said.
“The Ferrero family isn’t invincible.”
Colette’s voice was steady!
She had no intention of letting this spiral further or controlling the narrative
Instead, she planned to take a different route.
The Ferrero family had always catered to the high–end market
However, under the insistence of Magnus and Spencer, they shifted their focus this year, releasing more affordable products to attract a wider customer base.
Though sales soared due to the endless gossip about the wealthy family, this came at a cost, damaging their original high–end products. For those in the high–end market, the worst thing that could happen was the loss of distinction.
Under Colette’s strategic direction, her team had successfully positioned the Ferrera family’s products as no longer fitting the luxury market’s standards &
With the media buzz around their budget–friendly products fading, the Ferrero brand slowly began to slip from the public’s eye.
As a result, the company faced constant financial losses.
Enrico was livid, ordering Magnus and Spencer to return at once.
But they remained stubborn, unwilling to budge from Canada. Despite Colette’s clear desire to avoid them, they waited outside her company daily.
“Grandpa, this is something we owe Colette. It’s something you owe her too!!!
“If we can’t ear her forgiveness and convince her to come back willingly, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life!”
Enrico’s fury reached a boiling point, causing him to collapse in a fit of rage. In a swift motion, he froze their bank accounts and stripped them of all their rights within the company.
In an instant, Magnus and Spencer found themselves paralyzed in Canada, with no means to move forward.
Without money, they were nothing.!!
If it hadn’t been for the fact they’d prepaid an entire quarter at a hotel near Colette’s company just to stay close to her, they would have had nowhere to go.
Meanwhile, Colette’s parents bombarded her with phone calls.3
Finally, they relented, offering her a stake in the company and promising to let her take the reins.
“Colette, I heard the Fenero family said you’ve started your own company. but that’s not really home, is it?”
“Building a career on your own is tough. Come back. Your father and I can help you 8
As she recalled the past, Colette’s gaze darkened.”
Her parents had been there for her, yes, but only for the sake of the Moore family’s future.
When her pregnancy and the ensuing scandal tainted their reputation, they cast her aside without a second thought.
“For me, wherever I am is home,” she replied, her voice cold as ice.!!
Her parents, unable to accept her indifference, pushed on.
“Colette, can’t you think about us, your father and mother? You divorced so carelessly. Have you ever considered the consequences for the Moore family?”
“The marriage between the Moore and Ferrero families is shattered, and the whole world is talking! Why can’t you stop being so selfish?” Colette scoffed, the bitterness in her laugh echoing through the phone
Tve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I have no ties to the Ferrero or Moore families.”
“Selfish or not, 1 live for myself from now on.”
