Her child had survived so many violent crashes and premature labor, but in the end, it was his own father’s hands that sealed his fate. Colette felt as though her soul had been ripped from her body. Like an empty shell, she lay there, her mind numb, as the doctor continued to drone on about her condition. After a few more days in bed, she was finally discharged and sent back to the Ferrero residence.
But the moment she stepped through the door, a porcelain cup crashed down onto her.
Enrico Ferrero, once so kind, so gentle in his care for her because of the pregnancy, now glared at her with eyes burning with fury “You beast! My family’s only child, and you killed him with your own hands! You don’t deserve to be a mother!”
Colette’s gaze was blank as she looked up at him, her eyes then flicking to Magnus and Spencer standing beside the furious old man. A bitter smile tugged at her lips.

Magnus turned his head, unable to meet her eyes. Spencer clenched his fists, his discomfort written all over his face. But neither of them spoke a word.
Colette laughed so hard that tears spilled down her cheeks.
