He thought if someone who loved him so much saw it, I’d immediately come back, apologize, and promise never to act out again.
I’d even agree to him being with Genevieve.
But I didn’t.

Days passed, and I didn’t contact him, even blocking him on Snapchat.
He was angry for days, realizing I might really be disappearing from his life.
With me gone, the kitchen was cold and empty.
Without me cleaning, everything was messy.
Without me helping our daughter with homework, she cried uncontrollably.
Declan got scared.
His mind filled with memories of us, and even at night, his dreams were all about me.
He suddenly understood that in all these years, he had already fallen in love with me, but these ten years had become too monotonous.
I humbly cared for him and our daughter, and he got used to my contributions, ignoring my existence.
Genevieve was his unattainable white moonlight, and seeing her made his heart flutter.
Genevieve’s photos were provocative, stirring his long–dormant primal desires.
But it was just occasional passion.
After the passion faded, he realized this white moonlight was just that, and marriage still required a woman like me!
Declan started hiring people to track me down.

With admiration, passion, and love!
Declan panicked. He couldn’t sleep, counting down the days until I’d return home.
Genevieve’s daring photos stirred Declan’s long–suppressed desires.
But it was just a fleeting infatuation.
When the passion subsided, he realized that his “The One That Got Away” wasn’t all that special. For marriage, he needed someone like me!
Declan began searching for me.
A private investigator sent him videos of me in another city, with a young and handsome man beside me, looking at me the way I once looked at Declan.
Admiration, passion, love!
Declan became anxious, losing sleep every night, counting down the days until I
returned.
Even our daughter was having trouble adjusting.
She cried at home, asking for my Coca–Cola chicken wings, saying that Genevieve’s weren’t as good.
Before bed, she told Declan that she forgave me, admitting that while I wasn’t as good as Genevieve in many ways, my cooking was better.
Declan saw his chance, desperately wanting to win me back.
After returning to City A, I planned to take a well–deserved rest.
But Declan showed up at my door with Sierra, looking disheveled and unkempt.
Yet he arrogantly demanded, “Who allowed you to take a job behind my back and not tell
me?”
“Nora I’m your husband!”

“Nora, I’m your husband!”
He seemed unhinged.
I stood inside, not letting him enter.
“We signed the divorce agreement. In a few days, the cooling–off period ends, and we
can finalize it.”
Declan’s grip on the door tightened. “Who said I’m divorcing you? Everything I said was out of anger. Both Sierra and I love you.”
His tone softened considerably.
I was taken aback by his change in attitude.
In the past, he could summon me at will, but now he was lowering his head.
But a love that comes late is worth less than grass.
“I don’t need your love. Genevieve, your ‘The One That Got Away, will take good care of
you.”
