Chapter 52
When Giselle reached the gate, she saw Zachary waiting by his Lamborghini. He wasn’t sitting inside like a driver she’d summoned–he’d stepped out as soon as he arrived and was now casually leaning against the car, watching her approach.
Sorry to keep you waiting, Zach,” Giselle said as she walked toward him with her dog. Then, with a smile, she asked, “Do you mind if I bring the dog along?”
Do 1 look like I would mind?” of course, he didn’t. He even crouched to pet the dog. “This is a shepherd dog, right? it’s rare to see a lady have such a cool dog, but suits you perfectly.”
Giselle explained, “It might look fierce, but it’s actually very gentle. It’s clingy, and even cries when it feels sad.
Zachary laughed. “Why does that sound exactly like me?” Then he casually asked, “By the way, what’s its name?”
It used to be called Padding, but I thought that sounded childish. So, I changed its name to Eastin.”
“Eastin, buh?
“Yeah.” Giselle chackded “Doesn’t it sound more mature now?
“Yeah, it’s nice, it fits the dog really well too!” Zachary couldn’t stop praising her–no matter what she said or did, he found a way to compliment her.
After they chatted for a while, they finally got into the car with the dog.
Zachary slid into the driver’s seat, Giselle took the passenger seat, and Eastin obediently settled into the back.
“What do you want for lunch?” Zachary asked as they started driving.
“It’s only ten o’clock–it’s too early for lunch. I’m planning to check out some cars first. My budget is around 50,000 dollars. Any recommendations in that price range?” Giselle figured a wealthy guy like him would know plenty about cars, so she wanted his advice.
“That’s your whole budget?”
She chuckled without concem. “My business hasn’t been doing great lately, so I have to cut expenses for now. Since it’s just forgetting around, a fifty- thousand–dollar car should be more than enough”
Bur Zachary didn’t bother recommending cars in that price range. Instead, he excitedly launched into a rant about luxury cars that cost far more.
He claimed Porsches had bad transmissions, McLarens had ugly interiors, Lamborghinis stalled too often, Ferraris were too cramped, Maseratis had poor craftsmanship, Land Rovers had terrible suspensions, and Mercedes–Benz cars were too weak
After mocking the cars that most people dreamed of owning, he finally drove her to an Aston Martin dealership. The dealership owner, used to seeing wealthy clients daily, immediately recognized Zachary and greeted him with respectful enthusiasm.
Then, catching sight of the stunning Giselle, the owner grinned and said flatteringly, “Mr. Kane, you’ve got excellent taste! This young lady is a real beauty—far inote gorgeous than the ones you’ve brought before. She’s as stunning as any celebrity! Haha!”
Zachary frowned and rolled haeyes. “If you’ve got nothing useful to say, just shut up. Arrange a test drive for us. Now.”
“Of course! Right away!”
Soon, under Zadiary’s instruction, they were brought to the test drive zone to try out an Aston Martin DBS.
Guelle had driven many cars before and was familiar with most luxury beards, but this was her first time behind the wheel of an Aston Martin. She had to admit, the million–dollar car looked incredible.
