But less than a minute later, a sense of unease crept in As if something clicked, he suddenly stood up from the table without a word and left the dining room, his expression dark as he walked toward the first–floor bathroom.

Faced with her sharp questioning, Donovan didn’t get angry. He just shot her a dismissive glance. “Did you actually think I’m going to marry you just because I’m not marrying her?”

She didn’t bother lowering her voice. Thinking about everything they’d gone through–the endless push and pull–her emotions surged.
“Donovan, don’t play games with me! You can marry a prostitute for all I care, but you’re not marrying that woman!”
He seemed used to her outbursts by now. No longer easily provoked, he stayed calm and cold, even in a moment like this,

He tumed to unlock the door.
“Fine, go ahead.” Giselle leaned back against the sink, scoffing. “I’ll go buy an air ticket to Usna right now. Tonight’s flight. I’ll comfort poor Zachary and- She didn’t even finish her sentence before he kissed her hard, cutting her off completely-
His tall, broad frame pressed against her, hands gripping her head as his mouth claimed hers without restraint, stealing the air from her lungs and giving chance to respond.

She couldn’t fight back All she could feel was the rapid thump of his heart, the heat radiating off his body, and the overwhelming pressure that made her legs weaken beneath her.
