Chapter 75
when Giselle heard the news, she was speechless,
She had wanted to make a scene, but after calming down, she quickly understood what was really going on.
It didn’t take a genius to figure it out–Bence had already pulled some strings at the police department.
After all, Benee was the CEO of a billion–dollar publicly listed company with deep ties in political and business circles. She was especially skilled at handling people, so settling something like this behind the scenes was child’s play to her.
Most likely, she’d taken advantage of the fact that Giselle and Arme were technically family by blood. She probably told the police it was just a minor scuffle between two kids in the same household–a domestic matter. Then she likely slipped some money to the officers handling the case, and just like that, the traffic camera malfunctioned.
Now, with no footage, eyewitnesses, or solid evidence, the police wouldn’t do anything to Anne. At most,
host, she’d be asked to give a statement, not even a detention. It Giselle insisted on pushing it further–filing formal complaints, hiring a lawyer, going through the courts–it would be a long, exhausting process, with no guarantee of winning.
She thought back to how the case about her pet hospital still hadn’t been resolved. She also remembered that the incident where her car was run off the road had gone nowhere. No one had been caught, and the culprit had already fled the country.
She didn’t want to waste more time.
Besides, the best revenge against Anne wouldn’t come from putting her behind bars. It would be taking away the man she loved most, ruining the marriage she’d dreamed of her whole lite.
After what happened, Giselle knew she couldn’t wait any longer.
She made a decision.
A new week began.
That moming, Giselle woke naturally, got out of bed, showered, washed her hair, and blew it dry. Then she carefully applied her makeup and selected a sleek, professional outfic–a satin white blouse topped with a knee–length pencil skirt, completed by two–inch stilettos
The look was refined, graceful, and alluring. She radiated the confident charm of a modem city woman, a stark contrast to her usual carefree, sexy style–elegant and put–together to perfection
After checking her look one last time in the full–length mirror and feeling completely satisfied, she took Eastin and headed out
She drove Donovan’s Audi All, wearing sunglasses,
With one hand resting lightly on the wheel, she leaned back comfortably. She dropped Eastin off at her shop first, then sped straight to the headquarters of Kane Pharmaceutical Group.
Driving his car made everything, easier–every ent
every entrance opened for her without question.
She parked effortlessly in the building’s garage and strolled inside like she owned the place. Taking the CEO’s private VIP elevator, she punched in the code she already low by heart.
She still had her sunglasses on when she stepped out of the elevator. Arms folded across her chest, her figure swayed confidently as she walked unhurriedly toward bis office.
Ceveral male employees passed by and flushed red, avoiding eye contact. After she walked past, they couldn’t help but turn back and whisper among themselves. clearly dazzled.
“Hey, who’s that woman? She’s insanely beautiful–and that body? Oh, my God.”
“She’s probably o one of the CEO’s business partners or something. Did you see her boobs? Her legs? And that scent… Damn! I’ve never seen a woman like that,” “Business partner? Nah, she’s gotta be his woman. Women like that–only the rich get to touch All we can do is look”
Giselle didn’t care about their states
