Chapter 76
Giselle walked straight up to the CEO’s office door and knocked lightly
No one responded.
She wondered if Donovan was not in.
After a second’s thought, she simply pushed the door open.
The moment the door opened hallway, she glanced inside and froze.
Donovan was sitting in the lounge area of his office, and next to him sat a woman. She was practically draped over him, her hand caressing the back of his neck while whispering something suggestive into his ear. Donovan didn’t push her away, but he didn’t exactly reciprocate either.
Giselle stood at the doorway, stunned. Her body stiffened as she stated.
Because the office was so large and her entrance had been quiet, it took several seconds before the woman finally glanced toward the door and noticed her. She jumped and quickly moved away from Donovan.
Donovan looked up as well, now aware of Giselle’s presence. He furrowed his brow slightly but didn’t show much emotion. Calmly, he said to the woman beside him, “We ll pause here for today. Let’s talk again later.”
Caught in such an awkward moment, the woman looked a little embarrassed. She tucked her hair behind her ear and blushed. “Alright, Mr. Kane. Since you have company, I won’t take up any more of your time. We can follow up on the details via WhatsApp. Let’s schedule something tomorrow.”
“Sure
So, she was just a business partner. At first glance, she had fair son and decent looks, but her face was obviously the result of cosmetic work. She looked somewhere between 28 and 38, with a thick waist and wide hips. Her overly sweet voice grated on Giselle’s nerves.
Giselle couldn’t figure out what kind of business someone like her could possibly have with a major pharmaceutical company.
While aralyzing the woman, Giselle quietly stepped further into the room.
The woman quickly buttoned her blouse, grabbed her purse, and waved goodbye to Donovan with a flirtatious smile.
As she walked past Giselle, she gave her a quick, disdainful glance and headed for the exit.
But before she could get far, Giselle suddenly reached out and yanked her by the hair.
Before the woman could react, Giselle slapped her hard across the face.
The woman screamed, clutching her cheek in shock. “Who the hell are you, you crazy bitch? I’m calling the
police!”
She turned toward Donovan for help. “Mr. Kane, what’s going on here? Who’s this lunatic? Get her out of here!”
Donovan simply closed his eyes in frustration and said calmly, “Go to the hospital and get your infortes checked. I’ll handle her personally. You’ll be compensated accordingly.
But the woman wasn’t having it. She placed at Giselle. “I don’t care. In filling a report. And I want a public apology. I don’t care if she’s insane. She needs to apologize,”
“Apologize for what?” Giselle didn’t show the slightest guilt. Instead, her confidence flared. “You lald your hands on my man. I’m already being nice for not breaking your brand–new nose.”
The woman’s face turned bright red. “What are you even talking about?”
I’m talking to you. Your nose jobanks. That bridge is as thick as an elephant’s trunk. And those double eyelids? What did you use to slice those? A butcher’s knife?
For a woman who had just undergone cosmetic surgery and was already emotionally fragile, Giselle’s jab landed tight where it hurt the most, especially in front of the man she’d just tried to flirt with
“You’re insane! Atotal fanatic I’m done talking to you!” Mortified and humiliated, the woman clutched her nose, face burning with shame, and stormed out of the office.
