*Ms. Holt, I never expected you to be so uncultured,” Dorothea snapped. Her piercing glare was sharper than anticipated.
“But being uncultured is one thing. I didn’t expect you to be so malicious, to think you’d stoop to such despicable acts.”
Giselle found the comment strange and asked in return, “Mrs. Kane, what exactly do you mean by that?”
“What do I mean?” Dorothea looked at her with even more disdain and demanded, “What happened with my cat when it fell gravely ill? Tell me the truth.”
“Wait, Mrs. Kane, I don’t understand. Wasn’t your cat already sick before i saved it? what’s the issue now?”
At that moment, Catherine Montgomery, Dorothea’s personal housekeeper, stepped forward. Her voice was sharp with accusation. “Stop trying to lie your way out! On June 8th, I brought Mrs. Kane’s cat to your pet clinic. It only had a mild loss of appetite but was otherwise perfectly healthy. Yet after your treatment, it started deteriorating rapidly!

When Catherine finished, Anne jumped in to add fuel to the fire. “Exactly! That was your plan all along, wasn’t it? You deliberately infected Mrs. Kane’s cat with feline panleukopenia and waited until it was at death’s door. Then you swooped in like a hero, just to manipulate your way into Mrs. Kane’s good graces and wor your way into the Kanes‘ lives!”

Unable to stomach another word, Giselle looked at Dorothea and finnly said, “Mrs. Kane, if you genuinely believed your cat fell ill due to my clinic’s negligence, then this is a serious accusation. Why don’t we call the police and have them investigate this matter thoroughly?
“There’s no need,” Dorothea scoffed. “I don’t have time to waste on you. Out of respect for the kindness your father once showed me, I won’t take legal action for

Then Renee continued her show of false concert “Thank you for being so generous, Mrs. Kane. Rest assured, Tony and I’ll have a stem talk with her, and we’ll make sure she steps away from the pet industry.
“We couldn’t risk another incident tanishing the Kane family’s reputation. After all, Anne will soon be a part of your esteemed household.”
