Chapter 174
DELILAH-
I didn’t bother turning back when Luca walked into the room. I continued brushing my hair while watching him through the mirror.
“Can we talk?” He questioned as soon as I stood up from the chair.
“Now you want to talk after Clara spoke to you? Look I just put Mia to bed and I just want to rest, okay?” I said to him and tried walking past him when he grabbed my hand and pulled me back.
“Please Delilah, I’m begging you. Let’s just talk for a few minutes” He said softly and I couldn’t stop the tears that rolled down my cheeks.
“You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for months just for you to say those words. Do you know how hard it has been for me?” I questioned and he immediately grabbed my face, turning me to face him.
“I’m sorry my love, I’m sorry. I just didn’t want to burden you…”
“Burden me with what? We had a child, Luca and you hardly spend time with me or her. If you know your work is more important to you then…” “Nothing matters more to me in this world than you and Mia. You both mean everything to me” He interrupted and I frowned.
“It doesn’t seem like that. As a matter of fact, it hasn’t seemed like that for a while now. You don’t talk to me like before, you ignore me, you hardly even touch me. Don’t you love me anymore?” My voice quivered as I spoke. If he said yes, I didn’t know what I was going to do with myself.
Despite how he treated me, I loved Luca so fucking much. So much that even if he said yes, I would still choose to stay beside him. I wasn’t sure I could love or want to love someone else.
“I love you more than my life, Delilah. You have no idea how much I love you…”
“I haven’t felt this love you claim to have for me for four years now, Luca!” I screamed in his face as hot tears rolled down my cheeks.
“Delilah…”
“Why? I want to know why you’ve been so distant. Tell me what’s going on” I urged as I grabbed onto his hand. The more I looked at him, the more I felt like something was wrong with him. The Luca I had fallen in love with had a glint in his eyes and a warm smile on his face anytime he stared at me and although I could still see the love in his eyes, there was something else in there.
“Talk to me Luca, tell me what’s wrong and let me help you” I murmured as I grabbed onto his face and he shook his head.
“You can’t help me, I don’t think anyone can” He whispered so softly, I barely heard him.
“There are voices in my head, Delilah. Most times I can’t make out what they’re saying but other times… I can and the things they’re telling me to do, the things the voices are trying to make me do, I can’t take it” He informed me and my eyes widened as I stared at him.
“What are they telling you to do? Why didn’t you tell me earlier? We could have found a solution together Luca” I uttered and he shook his head.
“Don’t you get it? The voices get louder when I’m with you because whenever I’m near you, my mind is relaxed, I’m relaxed and that’s the only reason why I’ve been burying myself in work because that’s the only thing that keeps my mind busy. I didn’t want to intentionally hurt you, Delilah. I didn’t want to make you cry. It’s just…”
“Shhh, it’s okay. It’s going to be okay, we’ll solve it together, hmm? Did you tell Damon and Clara about this?” I questioned and he nodded.
“I told them I was hearing voices but I don’t think they understood what I meant” He replied and I sighed before nodding.
“We need to explain it to them so we can come up with a solution. This doesn’t have anything to do with the deal you made with those witches, does it?” I questioned softly and he pursed his lips, confirming my theory.
“What exactly did you promise them, Luca?” I questioned as I stared Into his eyes.
“They said they needed a werewolf vessel. I didn’t ask too many questions because at that time, all that mattered to me was helping Clara with her pregnancy. I told them I would be a vessel only if they helped Clara and they did” He revealed and my eyes widened with realization.
Those bloody witches were behind this.
“It’s okay, it’s going to be okay” I murmured as I wrapped my arms tightly around him before placing my lips on his. He immediately kissed me back with so much hunger that I couldn’t help but moan into his mouth.
“Fucking hell, I’ve missed you” He murmured against my lips.
“Can you hear the voices now?” I questioned without taking my lips off his and he shook his head.

Chapter 174
“My mind is occupied with how badly I want to pin you against that door” He murmured and I giggled as he slowly pushed me backwards and I gasped as soon as my back touched the door.
I reached out for his shirt and was about to unbutton it when Mia’s loud wail sounded through the baby monitor.
We both immediately froze till I let out a sigh.
“I need to go check up on her and probably feed her” I said to him and he slowly pulled away.
“Come with me? You’re hardly home and I’m sure she misses you” I told him then stretched out my hand towards him which he immediately took.
We walked towards Mia’s room and immediately she saw me, she stopped crying and began to laugh wholeheartedly.
“You naughty little princess. You just like stressing mama huh?” I said to her as I picked her out of her crib and cradled her in my arms. I placed several kisses on her cute chubby face before turning to Laica who was standing behind me.
“Do you mind holding her while I go get the milk I pumped out earlier from the fridge?” I questioned.
“Of course I don’t mind” He replied before reaching out and I carefully placed her into his arms. Mia stared up at his face for a while before snuggling closer to him and the look in his eyes almost made me cry.
Here I was thinking he was neglecting me and Mia because he was tired and regretted his choice of being with me not knowing he was going through a lot.
As I watched him rock Mia back and forth, I swore to myself that we were going to be happy again no matter what it took…

I won’t be writing Luca’s and Delilah’s story in this book because this book is about Clara and Damon. There will be one more bonus chapter and that will be all for this book.
