Chapter 177

My head was literally banging as Damon drove down to the witch’s coven. I continued tapping my feet, hoping it would distract me from the ache in my head but it didn’t.
“Are you okay?” Damon questioned as he briefly glanced at me before turning back to the road.
“No I’m not fucking okay, I’m fucking loosing my mind” I muttered through clenched teeth before letting out a groan.
“What exactly are they doing to you?” He questioned and I sighed.
“I don’t know man. This morning, I had the worst freaking nightmare. I was being chained in my dream and could barely speak. I don’t know what that meant but…”
“It has something to do with the witches and you being their vessel. Those damn pests, I never liked them” He muttered and I couldn’t help but chuckle.
“They helped save Clara and your kids though” I pointed out and he grunted.
“That’s the only reason I’m not going to immediately start killing them but if they don’t say something reasonable, I’m going to have to risk it” He uttered and I smiled.
“Deep down, you love me, don’t you?” I teased and he rolled his eyes.
“Shut up”
It took almost five hours before we pulled up outside the witches coven. It was covered with a cloaking spell but Damon has been here one too many times that he knew exactly where it was.
“Are you feeling better?” He questioned as he turned off the car before turning to me. The sun had already set by the time we got there.
“Not really. That’s why we should get this over with quickly” I muttered and he smirked.
“I hope you’re ready to whoop some witches asses” He said and I smirked before we both climbed out of the car and it was long before some witches appeared and I recognized one.
She was with the witches that had come to this hospital to help Clara.
“Alpha King, Alpha Luca. We have been expecting you” The witch greeted while the others bowed their heads.
I glanced at Damon and he shrugged before we turned back to them.
“Please before you come in, you’re going to have to keep all your weapons behind” The witch said and Damon scoffed.
“We don’t need weapons, little witch. Take us to your Queen, now” He ordered and I saw her tremble slightly before Bowing her head as she turned around.
“Come with us” She uttered then took a few steps before disappearing. I glanced at Damon who immediately followed behind her, disappearing along with her.
I followed in soon after and was mesmerized by what I saw. Was this the witch’s coven? It was like I was in a different world entirely.
I had been here once before in the past but I didn’t remember it being like this.
“Come with me. My Queen is waiting” The witch uttered then walked away and we quickly followed behind her.
She walked into a cave and Damon and I immediately stood on high alert as we followed behind her. For all we knew, this might be a trap
We walked further into the cave before we walked into a throne room filled with candles and other equipment used by witches.
There seated on the throne had been the witch I had spoken to and beside her was the second witch. They both stared at me with a smile on their faces but when their eyes landed on Damon, their eyes turned cold.
“I never wanted to see you again, Damon Donovan” The Queen of witches said as she stood up from her throne and slowly walked up to us.
The feeling is mutual. Get your stupid spell off Luca and we’ll be on our merry way” He uttered and she raised an eyebrow before turning to me.
“We made a deal” She said and I scoffed.

Chapter 177
“Well, you didn’t tell me you were gradually going to fucking turn me mad. I have a daughter and I can’t be a good father for her because of whatever spell you put on me. Get it off” I ordered her and she stared at me for a while before letting out a sigh.
“We made a deal, Luca. In order to save the Queen Luna and her pups, you were willing to do anything so I turned you into a vessel for the witches. If you were to stop being our vessel, then I’ll have to take the lives of the Queen Luna and her pups” As soon as she finished her sentence, Damon’s fingers were already wrapped around her throat as he quickly slammed her against the wall.
The other witches around me immediately began chanting a spell and even though Damon was screaming in pain, he still didn’t let go of the witch’s neck.
“Speak about my wife again and I’ll break your fucking neck” He boomed and the other witches immediately stopped when the Queen raised her hand.
“Kill me and your wife and kids will die along with me” She told him and he froze instantly.
“You’re bluffing” He muttered but she just smirked.
“Go ahead and try your luck” She replied and he stared at her for a while before letting go of her neck.
She immediately fell to the ground coughing while the other witches rushed up to help her.
“You will not harm my wife” Damon said to her and she glanced up to glare at him.
“Nothing will happen to your wife as long as Luca remains our vessel” She said and I frowned.
“I cannot live like this. Can’t someone else be the vessel?” I asked and she turned to me.
“It has to be you. For generations, your family has been a vessel for the witches. Your mother was one before she died” She revealed and my eyes widened.
“What?” I questioned in disbelief. I didn’t know much about my family but nothing could have prepared me for this.
The other witches slowly helped the Queen of witches off the floor and she walked up to me.
“If you don’t want to be the vessel then your daughter will be a vessel” She uttered and I frowned.
“Over my dead body” I muttered and she smiled.
“This is your destiny, Luca. Even though you hadn’t offered to do anything for me, you would have still been a vessel because it runs in your blood” She revealed and I frowned.
“Why now? After all these years, why did you choose to make me a vessel now?” I questioned and she sighed.
“Because what I wanted was peace. When I became Queen, all I wanted was for us witches to be safe from harm but in this supernatural world, we have to be ready for anything. When your mother and your ancestors before you were our vessel, the witches were unstoppable. We could defeat any being on the planet with just a chant especially during your mother’s time but after she died, our powers began to lose their volume and after Damon attacked…” She briefly glared at Damon who rolled his eyes in response.
“…We went into hiding and only just came out due to the war. We lost so many of our people during the war and that was a result of our weakness. We need you to rise up again, we need you to become stronger, Luca” She said to me and I shook my head.
“Don’t you understand? I’m slowly going mad. The voices…”
“They are the voices of our ancestors. They’re trying to draw power for us using you as a vessel. Don’t worry, when you learn how to shut those voices out and control the power within you, you’ll become unstoppable just like your mother” She murmured and she smiled up at me.
“And if I can’t control it? What then?” I questioned and she frowned.
“Then you’ll die just like your mother did“…
