Chapter 179
DELILAH-
I slowly opened my eyes and I smiled when I saw Luca peacefully sleeping beside me. I guess they had managed to convince the witches to remove their spell on him.
I wrapped my arms tighter around his waist before placing a kiss on the tip of his nose.
“Good morning,” He murmured without opening his eyes, his voice deep with sleep.
“I hope you slept well?” I questioned as I caressed his face and he groaned before flipping me over so I was laying on my back before resting his head on my breast.
“I want to sleep some more. Let me lay here for a while” He replied and I smiled while dragging my fingers softly up and down his back.
We stayed in that position for a while till I heard Mia’s cry from the baby monitor.
“I better go get her” I murmured and he nodded before slowly lifting up his head.
“I’ll come with you” He replied and after getting dressed, we both went to Mia’s room. Immediately she saw us, she stopped crying and was laughing instead.”
“You’re so mischievous, my little princess. You just like worrying mummy, don’t you?” Luca uttered as he picked Mia up from her crib and placed a kiss on her cheeks in which she grabbed his face in return.
My eyes swelled when I saw the look in his eyes and I immediately regretted thinking he didn’t care or love us anymore. If Clara hadn’t confronted him, I might have never found out and that made me sad.
“I’ll go make breakfast while you look after her” I said to him then placed a kiss on Mia’s head then his lips before walking out of the room. While I was preparing breakfast, I suddenly felt Luca wrap his arms around my waist from behind as he placed his head on my shoulder.
“Mia went back to sleep. Why won’t you let me hire a cook and a nanny so you can have less work on your hands?” He questioned as he nibbled on my ear lobe.
“Because I want the total experience of being a wife and a mother. All my life, I’ve always had someone taking care of me which made me become a little dependent. I want to be a good example for Mia so she can grow up and be independent” I told him and he hummed before placing a kiss on my cheek.
“I’m proud of you but you can’t overexert yourself, okay? Everyone gets tired sometimes and you might need help. I’ll help as much as I can of course but still. I’ll get a cook and nanny
for
you, okay?” He uttered and I sighed knowing he wasn’t going to take no for an answer.
“Okay fine but only a cook. I don’t want a nanny, I want to take care of Mia myself” I told him and he nodded.
“Very well then” He murmured as he buried his nose on my neck.
“Don’t you have to go to work today?” I questioned as I turned off the stove.
“No, I want to spend as much time with you and Mia as possible” He replied and I giggled.
“You have an entire lifetime to do that, don’t you?” I questioned as I took out plates from the drawers.
“Yes but anything is possible. We need to cherish the little moments we have with one another” He replied which made me frown.
I turned to him with a raised eyebrow.
“Are you okay?” I questioned and he flashed me a smile then nodded.
“Of course I’m okay, don’t I look okay?” He questioned and I took that time to stare at him properly. He did look okay, at least better than he did before he left.
“You haven’t told me how your conversation with the witches went” I said to him with a raised eyebrow.
“There’s really nothing to talk about. Damon and I just talked to them and now I’m okay so I guess they listened to our threats. Let’s eat, I’m starving” He murmured as I pulled me close and I giggled as he placed kisses on my face.
I plated his food then went upstairs to feed Mia when I heard her cry through the baby monitor. After that, I went downstairs and placed her in her little playpen while I sat down to eat breakfast with Luca who had been waiting for me.
“Come here” He murmured and I immediately stood up and walked over to him then sat on his lap.

Chapter 179
“Damon and Clara are planning on going on a little vacation soon” He suddenly said while placing kisses on my arm.
“That means you’re going to be even busier soon?” I questioned with a frown. Ever since Damon passed down his Alpha title to Luca, he has been busier than usual.
Luca wasn’t like Damon who liked taking long breaks or like putting himself first. I knew Mia and I were his first priorities but sometimes, it didn’t feel like it.
“Yes but I’ll make sure to spend as much time with Mia and you. Aside from that, I was thinking when Damon and Clara get back, you and I can go on a little vacation. Just you and me” He suggested and I frowned.
“What about Mia?”
“I’m sure Clara would be happy to watch after her, plus she can be with her cousins. You know how much they love her” He uttered and I sighed.
“Just think about it okay? It mustn’t be now and we can just plan it for now but I want to go on a vacation with you where it’s just you and I. I can’t remember the last time you and I spent time together because in the past, we were either too busy hiding our feelings from each other, hiding our relationship from Damon and then we were too busy dealing with Sebastian. I don’t even think I’ve taken you on a proper date yet. Have I ever even made you feel special?” His question made me turn to him sharply and the look in his eyes almost made me tear up.
“Of course you have…”
“It doesn’t feel like it. I’ve been thinking and I’ve never really done anything for you” He interjected and I frowned.
“Where is all this coming from? Look at me, I love you so much Luca and going on dates or whatever isn’t what makes me feel special but being with you, being loved by you does. Our relationship doesn’t have to be like everyone else’s. As long as we are both happy then that’s all that matters” I said to him before leaning down and placing a kiss on his lips.
“And you’re happy with me?” He questioned softly and I nodded without a second thought.
“Even when you act like a jerk sometimes, you still make me happy. Even when I cry over you or over a misunderstanding, I won’t change a thing about us. We are not perfect but we work, we have always worked” I told him before wrapping my arms around his shoulder as his arms tightened around my waist.
“When did my baby get so wise?” He joked as I pulled away and I rolled my eyes with a slight smile on my face.
“I’ll clear the table” I uttered as I stood up and grabbed some plates.
From the corner of my eye, I watched Luca stand up with the glass cups in hand and was about to walk towards me when he staggered and the cups fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.
“Luca!” I called out as I ran towards Mia’s playpen and immediately picked her up. Luckily, none of the shattered glass got to where her playpen
was.
“I’m sorry I… I’ll clean this up” He muttered but before he could take another step, his eyes rolled to the back of his head as he fell to and laid there unconscious…
