Chapter 7
As I was leaving, my son cheered, holding his father’s hand.
I didn’t spare them another glance and immediately went to the café where I had arranged to meet Elena.
“Did you really go through with it?” she asked, eyeing me.
I nodded. “It’s done.”
Then, I pulled out the certificate. “His status has risen, so I used his connections to bypass the waiting period and got it stamped directly.”
Elena let out a relieved sigh. “I have a job opportunity here. With your experience, you

should be able to give it a try.”
I immediately focused, listening attentively as Elena explained the requirements.
It was for a wealthy family looking to hire an experienced tutor for their child.
I didn’t have much work experience, but I had plenty of experience in taking care of and tutoring children. Plus, I had graduated from a prestigious university, and my son’s results had been quite good.
After confirming my interest, Elena took me to the interview.
Upon learning that I had been a stay–at–home wife, graduated from a top school, and had a ten–year–old child before the divorce, the employer immediately agreed to a three–day trial. If I was satisfactory, they would hire me

as a private tutor for 15,000 a month.
I was deeply grateful and treated Elena to a meal.
The next day, I started my new job.
At the mansion of the wealthy family, I encountered that quiet, introverted little girl.
This was the reason the family had hired a private tutor. It was said that the girl had experienced some unpleasant events at school, which had caused emotional harm. Her family didn’t feel comfortable sending her back to school after that.
I had experience tutoring my son.
Though her gender and personality were different, she was still a child, and some things were universal.

I studied the few cartoons Lumi liked and quickly struck up a conversation with her.
The employer was very pleased during the first two days.
On the third day, seeing Lumi stay home all
day, I took her out to get some s?
As we walked, I also taught her about the plants in the greenery.
Not only their names but also the kind of environment each plant preferred.
She listened attentively, her curiosity piqued as she asked about the flowers nearby, eager to learn about their blooming periods.
I enjoyed this feeling.

While resting in a pavilion, I unexpectedly saw Yuna.
She was dressed elegantly.
When she saw me, she exclaimed, “Hazy, you rushed to divorce Ari just to be a stepmother, huh?”
“This is the wealthiest villa area here. You’ve got quite the ambition, haven’t you?”
I frowned. I had never liked her, and now I found her utterly detestable. “Yuna, spreading rumors about others is a crime.”
“Hazy, come on, I’m just saying a few things, why are you getting so upset? If you’ve found a better life, I’ll bless you. After all, Ari has wanted me to be his wife for a long time.”

“As a housewife with no social skills, you’re powerless to do anything for Ari–not even to help him retain a shred of dignity. The only value you had to offer was your ability to bear children, but unfortunately, your firstborn was a son. With that, the Watson family no longer had any worries about an heir, and just like that, your last bit of worth has gone.”
She smiled smugly.
Without hesitation, I slapped her.
“Who says a woman’s value is just in giving birth?”
“Hazy, what are you doing?” Adrian hurried over and happened to catch the scene of me slapping Yuna.
Yuna, who had been full of herself just

moments ago, froze for a second and immediately covered her face, saying, “Ari, just thought it was a bit off for Hazy to rush into becoming a stepmother, so I tried to advise her a little. I never expected she would just lash out at me like that…”
Her words were dripping with sarcasm.
Yet, Adrian either didn’t catch it or simply enjoyed it. He immediately turned his gaze to
- me.
His gaze was filled with disapproval.
