Chapter 122
She became more and more enthusiastic as she spoke, wishing she could reveal all of Ophelia’s shortcomings, hoping that the man would come to despise her!
“And you probably didn’t know, but she also had affairs with others and even seduced the young master of the Pruitt family before…”
“Graham.” Winford’s icy voice suddenly rang out.
“Mr. Winford!”
“Drag her out and cut off her tongue.”
A casually spoken sentence suddenly rendered the air dead silent.
“Mr. Xian?!” Stella’s face suddenly turned pale.
She then noticed that the man’s expression had become very frightening. His eyes, filled with a fierce intensity, looked at her as if she were a
lifeless object.
Someone came up to grab her, and she instantly screamed, “What did I do wrong?!”
Graham said coldly, “Weren’t you just very talkative? Now you don’t even know what you did wrong?”
Stella stared wide–eyed in disbelief.
Was it just because she spoke ill of Ophelia?!
Graham sneered, “What do you think you are, daring to say that to us,
Ms. Greene?”
Because Mr. Winford had instructed not to reveal his relationship with his wife, he referred to her as “Ms. Greene.”
Stella found it even harder to believe.
Just because she said a few bad things about Ophelia, this man wanted to cut off her tongue?!
What was so good about that foolish woman Ophelia, and why did this man care about her so much?!
“No, don’t!!” As she saw that she was really about to be dragged out, Stella was filled with fear.
Did she really have to lose her tongue just for saying a few words?!
“Sir, please, spare me!!” She was so scared that tears streamed down her face, and the makeup she had spent two hours applying was instantly ruined, making her face look as ugly as a ghost.
Winford remained unmoved, and Stella didn’t even manage to touch the hem of his pants.
Stella, who was crying and pleading, seemed to him like an ant, not even receiving an indifferent glance from him.
He only asked. “How many classes did Lia have this morning?”
Graham said, “There were only two classes.”
Winford nodded and said, “Let Alfred come over and show her his hand.”
With such a concerned attitude, one might think that Ophelia’s hand was seriously injured, completely unaware that it was just a minor cut from a kitchen knife.
Graham responded.
As Stella was about to be dragged out, she suddenly heard the conversation and her eyes lit up.
She shouted, “You can’t treat me like this, I was Ophelia’s best friend!!”
The person who grabbed her stopped moving.
Winford looked over.
Stella gasped for breath, feeling that she had found the right direction. She quickly said, “What I said is all true. Ophelia and I were the best friends in school, and I usually spent all my time with her!”
Winford gently squinted his eyes.
Stella mustered her courage and said, half intentionally and half as a test, “You probably didn’t know, but Ophelia was particularly popular at the moment. There were even people at our school who specifically started a thread saying she was the rightful campus belle, and many boys wanted to pursue her!”
“If you needed, I could help you pass on the information…”
The air was very quiet.
The man’s long fingers curled up, gently tapping on the armrest of the chair, and his gaze, deep as a cold pool, fell on Stella.
The overwhelming pressure made Stella almost forget how to breathe.
When she was on the verge of despair, that magnetic and melodious voice finally sounded.
“Graham, took her out.”
Stella’s tense body instantly relaxed and collapsed to the ground like a pile of mud.
She knew that she had bet right!
The school.
Ophelia did not know that someone was flirting with her husband, and that they had even come to her home.
During the class, she noticed that Stella was absent, but she didn’t pay much attention to it.
Until just before the class was about to end, Stella quietly entered through the back door.
The other person’s face was covered with a mask, but it could still be seen that they had been beaten by someone, as both sides of their face were swollen.
Of course it was Graham who got people to take action. Although he let Stella go, how could she escape any punishment after saying so many bad things about Ophelia?
Ophelia also noticed that when Stella looked at her, her eyes were filled with both jealousy and fear, as if something had happened.
She gently squinted her eyes and didn’t pay much attention.
In just a few minutes, the class ended.
She got up and left the classroom to meet Lenora.
