Chapter 292
“I had already given them a chance,” Winford said, his inscrutable eyes revealing a chilling coldness that sent shivers down one’s spine. “Since they don’t want it, let them face the consequences they should pay.”
“Go and take back the things they had obtained over the years that did not belong to them.”
Graham was startled.
“Things that did not belong to them?”
Cullen’s father, Arturo, was just an illegitimate child. Over the years, they relied on Arturo’s father, William Pruitt, to have everything they had today in Minston.
Mr. Winford said that he wanted to take back what did not belong to them, which meant that he wanted to reclaim everything they had obtained from the Pruitt family?
This was to completely destroy the Cullen family!
Compared to the last time when he only broke one of Cullen’s legs, Mr. Winford was truly angry this time!
Graham felt a surge of unease as he sensed that Mr. Winford had once. again reverted to his decisive and ruthless demeanor from before he fell ill. Was it because he now had something he wanted to protect?
But he didn’t say a word of nonsense and immediately took his leave upon receiving the order.
With a command from Mr. Winford, the Pruitt family in Minston was

instantly turned upside down!
Ophelia learned about the Pruitt family’s accident the next day.
She first saw the gossip shared by Lenora on her phone, saying that the Pruitt family company had encountered problems overnight and was on the verge of bankruptcy, and that the Pruitt family was about to disappear from Minston. Then she ran into William, who was making one phone call after another to Winford.
But Winford didn’t answer any of them. He sat beside her, leisurely helping her wipe her hands that had just peeled the fruit, his movements patient and graceful, while the phone rang beside them, showing no intention of being answered at all.
Ophelia caught a glimpse of William’s name on her phone screen and, in a flash, realized-
“Hubby, was it you who did something about the Pruitt family?” She widened her eyes in surprise as she looked at the man.
Winford’s movement paused imperceptibly for a moment, and then he continued, cleaning her slender and beautiful fingers until they were spotless before he withdrew his hand. In à tone that remained unchanged, he asked, “Yes, Lia, is there something you would like to say?”
The deep–set eyes stared at her.
What did you want to say?
Ophelia opened her mouth, wanting to say something but hesitating.
“I had someone retrieve everything they had taken from the Pruitt family. Without the Pruitt family, they would soon disappear completely from Minston.”
Ophelia looked at him in even greater astonishment.
The man fixed his gaze on the girl’s face, not missing a single subtle reaction from her. Seeing her like this, the corners of his lips barely pressed down, and the atmosphere around him quietly lowered as well.
“Lia was unhappy? She didn’t want anything to happen to Cullen?”
Ophelia felt the large hand holding hers suddenly tighten, causing a bit of pain, and she was jolted awake.
Noticing the change in Winford’s expression, she instantly understood that he had misunderstood something. She found it amusing and helpless, yet also felt a pang of sympathy. Such a strong man, yet he was so sensitive when it came to matters related to her….
“I wasn’t unhappy!” she quickly explained, while also holding his hand. from behind. “In fact, I was a little happy because I knew that my husband did all of this for me…”
