Chapter 37 Winford Let Her Go
Winford didn’t say anything. He stared at his phone for two seconds, and then with a “thud,” he placed the phone on the cabinet beside him, neither too lightly nor too heavily.
The sound seemed to strike Ophelia’s heart, causing it to tighten for a
moment.
The surroundings were enveloped in complete silence.
Everyone thought that with Mr. Winford’s temperament, he would probably get angry, and his anger was something that not everyone could withstand!
Ophelia felt anxious, thinking about how angry he must be. Just as she was about to explain, she heard him speak, and he said-
“If you were unwilling in your heart, there was no need to force yourself. Just pack your things; I had someone take you away.”
The tone did not contain much anger; there was only fatigue and disappointment.
Ophelia suddenly froze.
Elva laughed happily, looking at Ophelia with a sense of pride and schadenfreude.
“Mr. Winford…!” Ophelia hurriedly reached out to pull him. She knew that he would only react this way when he was extremely disappointed; otherwise, with his domineering personality, how could he possibly not be angry?
But she would rather he got angry with her than be so “tolerant“! Because that meant he didn’t care!
Winford, however, did not want to hear what she had to say. He pulled his hand away from her grip and coldly ordered, “Graham, take me upstairs.”
Watching his figure disappear into the elevator without looking back, Ophelia felt extremely upset.
Beside her, Elva was extremely pleased. “Didn’t you hear what Mr. Winford said? Hurry up and pack your things! You don’t want to stay here, do you? Ha, just take a look at yourself, a worthless piece of junk, how could you possibly deserve–ah!!”
Before the words had left his mouth, he had already received a resounding slap on the face!
“Ophelia, did you dare to hit me?!”
Ophelia smiled coldly, her beautiful face displaying a chilling frost. “What, can’t I hit you?”
As soon as the words were spoken, a slap followed with the backhand!
Elva screamed and fell directly to the ground after being struck.
Ophelia looked down at her with a cold gaze and said, “No matter what, I am still Mr. Winford’s wife. Who do you think you are to speak to me like this?”
After she finished speaking, she turned around and quickly went upstairs.
At the bedroom door, Graham stood guard while Ophelia walked over quickly and said, “Let me in.”
Graham showed hesitation.

She added. “Don’t worry, if Mr. Winford got angry, I would take full responsibility!”
Graham sighed inwardly and stepped aside.
The bedroom was very dark because the light was not turned on and the
curtains were not drawn.
Since he got sick, Winford did not like the room to be too bright.
In the dim light, Ophelia saw the figure. She walked over, stood behind him, and cautiously said, “Mr. Winford…”
Hearing her instinctive address, a deeper darkness filled Winford’s eyes. “What did you come up here for?”
Hearing this, Ophelia pouted a little in grievance and asked, “Are you really going to drive me away?”
“I didn’t like to force people,” he said coldly. “Since you have someone else in your heart, then just go.”
“Did you really believe it just by reading a few text messages?” She ran up to him, clung to the armrest, squatted on one knee, and looked up at him with a somewhat aggrieved expression. “You would rather believe someone else’s one–sided story than listen to my explanation?”
Winford lowered his gaze, and his deep eyes fell upon her delicate and charming little face.
He had always been decisive in his actions and disliked listening to people waste time with meaningless talk. However, faced with her pitiful gaze, he ultimately closed his eyes and asked, “How are you going to explain this?”
Seeing that he was willing to give her a chance, Ophelia felt a surge of joy in her heart. “I never liked Cullen at all, I was just acting with him
before!”

She held his hand and said, “I told you that you are the only one in my heart, and I wasn’t lying to you. Would you believe me?”
She finished speaking and waited expectantly for his response:
A few seconds later, Winford slowly withdrew his hand.
As he moved, Ophelia’s heart slowly sank.
“Get out,” he said coldly.
He did not believe her!
Ophelia was filled with astonishment, feeling an indescribable discomfort. in her heart.
“Mr. Winford…”
Winford did not respond.
He indeed did not believe her.
To him, her explanation sounded so clumsy.
“Acting?”
Cullen sent not only a bunch of sweet words but also a close–up photo of the two of them. In the photo, the way she looked at Cullen was filled with love; there was no hint of acting at all.
Winford suppressed his anger and closed his eyes.
Ophelia felt both anxious and hurried.
She silently cursed Cullen in her heart, wishing she could tear apart that

troublesome piece of junk, while pitifully asking the man in front of her-
“Then what would it take for you to believe me?”
With her eyes fixed on the man’s god–like handsome face, her heartstrings suddenly stirred, and in the next moment, she unexpectedly approached him without any hesitation!
A reckless kiss suddenly collided with him, and the unfamiliar, soft sensation made Winford’s pupils dilate sharply.
Ophelia suddenly came to her senses when she met his gaze. The brief impulse passed, and she realized what she had done!
After a moment of stiffness, she forced herself to calm down, stepped back a little, and her voice trembled slightly: “…Then, would you be willing to believe me?”
On the armrest, Winford gripped tightly for a moment. In those brief two seconds, countless emotions flashed through his eyes.
In the end, only a cold silence remained.
“Go out!” he said.
Ophelia’s expression suddenly froze.
She looked at him in shock and sadness.
She suddenly stood up, her nose tinged with a sourness, her eyes reddened, and a strong sense of grievance surged in her heart.
Although she had already made the decision to repay him well in this lifetime, it was the first time she had taken the initiative like this in two lifetimes, yet he still seemed unwilling to believe her and even appeared to be somewhat disdainful of her…

She quietly wiped the corner of her eye, her voice tinged with a suppressed sob, as if in a fit of anger: “…I’m leaving right now! It just so happens that we haven’t even gotten our marriage certificate, so there’s not need to go through the trouble of getting a divorce!”
This sentence, I don’t know which word, stabbed Winford’s heart sharply.
She finished speaking and was about to leave.
The wrist was suddenly grabbed by a tremendous force.
She let out a low gasp, caught off guard, and stumbled forward, falling directly into his arms!
Her first reaction was panic and confusion. Then she suddenly remembered the injury on his leg and was afraid of pressing on it, so she instinctively tried to pull away.
However, it was firmly held in his arms by an irresistible force.
She pressed her hands against his strong chest, panic rising as she looked. up, only to collide with his cold and dangerous gaze.
“Didn’t you like me? Why did you run away? Huh?”
The man’s long and strong fingers gently pinched her cheeks, forcing her to meet his gaze without the ability to look away.
…Mr. Winford?”
Ophelia felt that the man at that moment was somewhat dangerous. Even with the filter of her past life, she couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious and
nervous.
