Chapter 42 Bertha And Elva Complained
Bertha’s face turned pale.
Elva was her daughter; how could she bear to deal with her that way?
“Elva didn’t take anything either; just let her apologize to the lady.” She said with a harsh expression on her old face, “Elva, apologize to the lady!”
Elva looked humiliated and said, “I’m sorry!”
Ophelia almost wanted to roll her eyes. Who was she showing this unwilling expression to? She didn’t want to say “I’m sorry,” and she didn’t want to hear it either!
Thinking that a simple apology could just brush this matter aside was really naive!
“I remember Bertha saying that those with serious issues should be kicked out, right? Elva even opened my drawer, and that’s not considered serious?” Ophelia snorted coldly, “Not to mention anything else, just the price of my phone alone should be enough to file a case, right?”
Hearing her say that, Bertha and Elva both changed their expressions.
Bertha threatened, “Madam, one should spare others when possible; don’t force me to bring this matter to Madam Pruitt!”
Ophelia almost laughed; it wasn’t her who had done something wrong, so what was there for her to be afraid of?
Where did Bertha get the confidence to think that, in this situation, Glenda would still stand by Elva?

She picked up her phone and said, “Go ahead, do you want me to help you call Grandma?”
Bertha choked.
Ophelia suddenly turned cold, and with a “bang,” she placed her phone down, neither too lightly nor too heavily. “Bertha, you said those words. yourself, so don’t forget them.”
She turned to Elva and commanded, “Go pack your things. I don’t want to see you at dinner tonight!”
He looked at the two maids again and said, “You two as well. Bertha, settle their wages!”
The two maids panicked, “Madam, we really didn’t do anything…!”
Elva jumped up in anger, “What right do you have to drive me away? Mr. Winford was the owner of Sunset Vista, what qualifications do you have to deal with me?!”
Ophelia sneered, “I was the mistress of Sunset Vista, the wife of Mr. Winford. Wasn’t that enough qualification? Were you some kind of precious princess? But how do I remember Mr. Winford saying you were just a servant?”
Elva’s face instantly turned red, and her fist, clenched tightly, turned slightly pale at the knuckles due to the excessive force.
“Alright, go pack your things,” she said coldly to the three of them.
Her gaze swept over the other silent servants, and she said coldly, “There are some things I will only say once, so remember this–since you are working at Sunset Vista, you need to understand your place and know what can be said and what cannot! If anyone still cannot remember, then you can go wherever you want; Sunset Vista does not keep those who do

not understand the rules!”
Everyone understood; she was talking about how someone had been gossiping about Elva before. The servants all lowered their heads and didn’t dare to make a sound.
The new lady didn’t even take Bertha seriously, Elva said they could be hurried along, as if they were nothing.
Previously, I looked down on Ophelia, but at that moment, I no longer dared to have such thoughts.
Ophelia was fairly satisfied with their reaction. “Alright, let’s go do what we need to do,” she said.
The servants felt as if they had been granted a pardon.
Elva returned to the room.
“Mom, I wasn’t leaving! Ophelia had no right to make me go!”
If she left Sunset Vista, how would she have the chance to get close to Mr. Winford?!
Looking at her crying daughter, Bertha’s old face darkened as she comforted, “Don’t worry, I will call Madam Pruitt right away. I don’t believe she can still be so imposing in front of Madam Pruitt!”
Looking at her daughter’s swollen and red cheeks, she snorted coldly and said, “Stop applying the medicine. Since she dared to hit you, why didn’t you dare to show it to Madam Pruitt?”
Ophelia anticipated that Bertha and Elva would not be so obedient, so when she heard the servant say that Glenda had come, she was not surprised at all.
As I went downstairs, I saw that Bertha and Elva had already come out

first.
Elva, with her painfully swollen face, cried pitifully in front of Glenda.
Glenda was furious: “Who beat you up like this?”
“It was Ophelia who did it!” Elva cried, “She even wanted to kick me out and wouldn’t let me continue living at Sunset Vista!”
As soon as the words were spoken, Ophelia came down the stairs.
Glenda’s expression suddenly became serious.
Elva and Bertha both snorted coldly in their hearts, feeling pleased that Ophelia was finished!
Ophelia had also been prepared to face challenges.
Suddenly, Glenda asked Elva-
“Did Ophelia hit you? Did you do something?”
The question was indeed a question, but it carried a sense of certainty.
Ophelia: “……?”
Elva: “…?”
Ophelia was stunned, while Elva was bewildered.
“Madam Pruitt?” she had tears still on her face, doubting that she had heard it wrong.
Glenda frowned and said, “If you didn’t do anything, why would Ophelial hit you for no reason? From what you said, she even wanted to kick your out, so it couldn’t have been just a random targeting of you, right?”

Elva was already dumbfounded, and Bertha was somewhat taken aback. Wasn’t Glenda there to stand up for Elva?!
Ophelia snapped back to reality from her astonishment and couldn’t help but secretly curl the corners of her mouth, feeling somewhat flattered and surprised.
She had thought that with Bertha and Elva’s status, Glenda would definitely question her and help Elva seek justice, but unexpectedly, Glenda chose to believe her without saying a word!
Her steps became a bit lighter as she walked over. “Glenda, Elva cursed at me, and that was why I hit her. She came into my room to steal things, and that was why I wanted to drive her out, not without reason.”
о
“Is this true?” Glenda immediately asked Bertha.
“This…” Bertha wanted to deny it, but Ophelia had the video in her hand, and she simply couldn’t lie!!
Seeing this, Glenda knew what was going on. She looked at Bertha somewhat unhappily and said, “You just called me and asked me to come and mediate for Elva. I thought Elva had been bullied for no reason, but it turns out she made a mistake herself. What am I here to mediate for?”
In Glenda’s mind, Bertha and Elva had some status, but who was Ophelia? Winford’s wife!
In her eyes, nothing was more important than her grandson, and Ophelia, who could capture Winford’s attention, held a status that others could not compare to.
Ophelia could make her grandson live like a real person. She was already too busy being kind to others; how could she possibly suffer for two insignificant people?

Bertha and Elva were both stunned.
“Madam Pruitt…?” Elva was at a loss.
Bertha felt heartbroken for her daughter, and with tears welling up in her eyes, she suddenly knelt down with a thud.
“Madam Pruitt, I had only one daughter, and I couldn’t bear to see her suffer. For the sake of my husband, I begged you to forgive her this once!”
Ophelia smiled faintly.
Who didn’t know that Bertha’s husband died to save Glenda? What else could Glenda do after she said that?
“Get up,” Glenda frowned, “What era is it now, still kneeling around?”
She was somewhat taken aback, but Bertha’s husband did indeed save her, so she could only say, “Forget it, let’s just consider that Elva was being thoughtless this time.”
Bertha and Elva’s eyes lit up in unison, realizing that Glenda intended to let Elva go!
However, Glenda then said-
