Chapter 89
The man’s voice was deep and pleasant, but his words sent a chill to the bottom of one’s heart.
As soon as he finished speaking, Winford took his little wife’s hand and
turned to leave.
Declan’s figure hunched over, as if he had aged ten years in an instant.
He turned his head and saw his daughter–in–law, who finally understood. fear, and his gaze instantly turned icy!
On the way back to Sunset Vista.
Ophelia looked at the man in confusion and asked, “Husband, how did you come here?”
No matter how you think about it, the Madison family didn’t have that much prestige, right?
Winford did not hide it from her and showed her the invitation.
Ophelia finally understood what he meant by “surprise” when he left. She raised her eyebrows slightly and said, “It seems I didn’t take revenge on the wrong person!”
When choosing someone, they selected Tom simply because he was already Erin’s lover, and it was not intended to target Victoria.
It seemed that this was a retribution from the heavens!
In a good mood, I suddenly heard Graham in the passenger seat say, “Madam, school is about to start, isn’t it?”
Ophelia was taken aback for a moment, then she realized that she was still a college student!
She calculated the days and realized that the summer vacation was about to end, and there were only a few days left until the school started.
“I almost forgot about it; I had to pack my things then,” she said instinctively.
“Packing up, where are you going?” Winford suddenly spoke up beside
- me.
“Go to the dormitory… Ah!” She spoke without thinking, and the next. moment, she was suddenly yanked by a force and fell into his arms.
“Husband…?” She looked up in shock, meeting the man’s cold, hard face and his icy black eyes.
The strength on her wrist seemed to be crushing her bones; it hurt a bit, but when she moved, she couldn’t break free at all.
“Did you really not want to stay by my side?” There was something restrained in his voice, and his thin lips pressed into a cold straight line.
Ophelia clearly felt that he was unhappy, even angry.
“I didn’t…” she argued softly, feeling a bit wronged, “The school is so far from home. If I don’t live on campus, I would have to spend four hours on the road every day.”
She carefully observed his expression and, without much hesitation, compromised, “If you don’t want me to stay in the dorm, then I won’t stay, just don’t be unhappy…”
She clearly felt that the man’s tense and hard muscles slowly relaxed, evidently starting to believe her words.
Graham in front regretted it immensely; he wondered why he had to bring up that topic…!
He carefully interjected. “Mr. Winford, Ventura University was somewhat far from Sunset Vista…”
Ophelia felt that the pressure on her wrist had eased a bit.
She sighed with relief, moved slightly, and said softly. “Honey, it hurts.”
The voice revealed a sense of grievance.
Winford let go.
Seeing the delicate wrist that he had pinched until it turned red, his jaw tightened slightly.
The day before school started, Ophelia had not shown any signs of activity.
Due to Winford’s reaction earlier, she had already given up the idea of continuing to live on campus.
Although living at home made going to school a bit troublesome, she cared more about Winford’s feelings.
As soon as they finished their meal, Winford started, “Is school starting tomorrow?”
Thinking that he was just asking casually, Ophelia nodded.
He said, “Go pack your things.”
“Ah?” She looked up in surprise, thinking that she had misheard.
Winford stood up from the dining table, his tall and upright figure made her strain to lift her head in order to look up at him.
He had no expression on his face and said in a light tone, “Four hours is a bit long.”
Realizing what he meant. Ophelia’s eyes lit up, and she suddenly stood up and hugged him, saying, “Honey, you are so wonderful!”
Although she felt that not living on campus and the commute were a bit difficult, it still moved her that he was willing to compromise for her.
Winford lowered his eyelashes and looked at the happy girl in his arms, remaining silent.
Ophelia tidied up her things and left with a light step.
There weren’t many things, so she quickly finished packing up.
She only intended to treat the dormitory as a temporary place to stay, and whenever she had time, she still tried to return to Sunset Vista, after all. her big husband was here, and how could she feel at ease staying at school all the time?
The next day, it was time to go to school.
