Chapter 108
Back in the day, Theo was just an average office worker. Billy used to mock him mercilessly–called him a loser, said he couldn’t even afford a decent car, hadn’t ever stepped foot in a Cafe and that no woman would ever want him. To Billy, Theo was a nobody.§
But in my past life, Theo was the one I should’ve chosen.”
We met at a college dance. I was part of an elite program, polished and well–practiced, especially on the dance floor. He, on the other hand, was all left feet. When I taught him how to waltz, he stepped on me more times than I could count. His ears turned beet red and he kept apologizing. I just laughed it off.
That night started a beautiful friendship.
But Billy had his eye on me from the start. He wormed his way into my life with calculated charm and when Theo tried to warn me, I snapped at him. I accused him of being jealous and bitter. I was too blind to see the truth.
Years later, when I was lying in a hospital bed with my oxygen unplugged by my own children–left to die like a stray–Theo was the one who came to claim my body. He cried hard that day, said if only I’d listened to him, I wouldn’t have ended up hurt by monsters in disguise.” So in this life, I didn’t make the same mistake. I found Theo again–and this time, I held onto him.}
He knew every dirty secret Billy had. And when I quietly asked if he’d help me take Billy down, he didn’t hesitate. He said yes without blinking.
My ten–year marriage to Billy was already dead. I never had my uterus removed like I claimed–I’d bribed a doctor to fake the report. I handed it to Billy just to set his mind at ease.}
While Billy was busy playing house with Denise behind my back, I was doing the same with Theo.
We snuck around in hotel rooms, backseats, mountain cabins–anywhere we could. Theo was tall, broad–shouldered and all man. He reminded me what passion really felt like.
Billy screwed my employee?}
Well, I screwed his best friend.
When I found out Denise was pregnant, Theo and I were already trying for a baby of our own. We worked hard at it–two weeks straight of sleepless nights–and it worked. I got pregnant too.”
Maybe it was fate. Maybe the universe decided to even the playing field, because I ended up carrying twins as well–a boy and a girl. When my belly started to show, I staged a trip, told Billy I had to go overseas for business. He didn’t question it–probably thrilled to have the house to himself for Denise.}]
While i was gone for months, they acted like they owned the place. I had the security footage. They were going at it all over the house like wild animals, trying out new moves every day.}
Now, back in the banquet hall, I reached over and laced my fingers through Theo’s. I gave Billy a slow, pointed smile and said, “You thought you were so clever, didn’t you? But in the end, you lost–completely.“}
Billy’s face twisted, his eyes wild. This was the final blow–losing to the man he’d looked down on his whole life. His lips parted and then -D
He vomited blood and collapsed.}
Denise rushed to his side, panic on her face. When she tried to drag the twins away with her, they snapped at her.”
“You’re pathetic,” Chloe spat.}
“Poor trash like you doesn’t deserve to be our mom!” Caleb sneered.
Denise, furious, slapped the boy.
But she’d forgotten–they had a mean streak and they were strong. Both of them lunged at her and the fight exploded.
Chloe clung to Denise’s waist, while Caleb grabbed a champagne bottle and smashed it over her head. Blood poured down her face as she screamed.
The entire room froze.
Theo and I? We just stood back and watched, sipping our drinks like it was a live show.
The kids didn’t stop. They punched and kicked Denise until she was howling in pain, her cries sounding like a pig being slaughtered.
Billy came to just in time to see it all. He screamed and rushed over, pulling them off her. In the end, he had to drag all three of them out of the banquet hall.
After that disaster of a celebration, I fired the security team that let them in.
Billy and Denise? Fired from the company too.”
Turns out they’d been siphoning money for years–tens of millions. But I had the paperwork. My lawyer filed charges immediately, got their accounts frozen and started the process to sue them for every last dime.
Billy came crawling back, of course.
He showed up at the estate more than once, kneeling in the pouring rain with snot and tears running down his face, crying about how sorry he was and begging me for a second chance.
He even said he’d be willing to be my side piece–no title, no name, just let him stay. Said he’d even have my baby if that’s what it took.
I nearly puked right there.#
