LYNN
I couldn’t help but smile as Nora continued to glare at me, still wearing her smug expression. It was almost too easy.
“You‘ re right about one thing, Nora,” I said, keeping my tone calm. “You‘ ve wasted enough time here. I’ll throw you out faster than you came in.”
Nora’s eyes widened with disbelief, but I turned away before she could respond. My body was stiff with the anticipation of what was to come next. I had no intention of
letting her have the last word, not after everything she had put me through.
I walked out of the room, my feet carrying me toward the living room where Ethan was waiting. His eyes met mine, and I could see the quiet understanding between us. I didn’t need to explain; he knew what was about to happen.

Once everyone was gathered in the room, I saw the usual confusion written across their faces–Ethan’s parents, Javier, and of course, Nora, all wondering why they had been called to this impromptu family meeting. Ethan looked at me with a soft, reassuring smile.
Barbara was the first to speak, her tone sharp with curiosity. “Lynn, what is this about?”
I didn’t waste any time. Without a word, I picked up the remote and started playing the video from the camera. The screen flickered to life, showing Nora in the balcony.
“You don’t have any proof that I’m not pregnant, Lynn, no one will believe you just like how they didn’t believe I fell on my own!”
The room fell silent. Even Nora’s eyes. widened, a brief flicker of panic crossing her face. There was no way out for her

I pressed forward, letting the video continue. Nora‘ s voice grew louder as she insulted me in the balcony. She had been playing everyone, and I wasn‘ t about to let her get away with it.
When the video ended, I let the silence hang in the air, heavy and undeniable. Nora didn’t move. She was frozen in
place, and for the first time since I had
known her, I saw a crack in her mask.
I spoke again, my voice cool and controlled. “And as for the incident with the fall? That was staged. I never pushed you, Nora. You faked it all.”
Barbara‘ s face twisted in disbelief, and Theodore’s jaw clenched in anger.
“Nora, is this true?” Barbara asked, her voice low and disappointed.
For a moment, Nora said nothing. Her eyes
darted from the screen to the others in the room. She opened her mouth as if to speak, but no words came out. She was caught-

completely exposed.
Theodore stood up, his voice tight with frustration. “We trusted you, Nora. We thought you were a part of this family.”
I couldn’t help the small, satisfied smile that curled on my lips. It was over.
Barbara‘ s voice was cold, and I could see the disappointment etched on her face.
“Nora, you need to leave. Now.”
The words were like a slap in the face. Nora’s eyes widened in shock, but there was no way out. The truth had been laid bare, and the facade she had carefully
crafted had shattered.
Without saying another word, Nora turned on her heel and stormed out of the
room, her heels clicking loudly against the hardwood floor. She didn’t look back, her
face flushed with anger and humiliation.
As soon as she was out of earshot, I let out a deep breath and looked at Ethan. He was standing beside me, his hand resting gently

on my shoulder in silent support. The tension in my body began to ease as I looked into his eyes.
“Are you okay?” he asked quietly.
I nodded, smiling faintly. “I’m more than okay.”
Just then, I noticed Nora wasn’t the only one leaving. Javier had slipped out of the room, his face a mixture of confusion and
anger.
Moments later, I saw Nora storming out with Javier, who dragged out her luggages, her voice high–pitched and pleading.
“Javier, you have to help me. You can’t let them do this to me. I’m not leaving this place without you.”
Javier stood there for a moment, his arms crossed over his chest, his face set in a grim expression. He didn’t say anything at first, but I could see the anger slowly building in him. Nora was still talking, her words coming faster, more desperate as

she tried to explain herself.
But then, something unexpected happened. Javier shook his head, his expression hardening.
“You‘ ve ruined everything, Nora,” he snapped. “You‘ ve ruined my relationship with Lynn. You‘ ve lied to me. You‘ ve manipulated me the whole time, and I can’t forgive that.”
I couldn’t help but feel a rush of payback as I watched Nora‘ s face fall. She opened her mouth to protest, but no words came.

“Don’t ever speak to me again,” he said, his voice ice–cold. “You‘ re nothing but a liar, and you‘ re on your own now.”
Nora stood there, staring after him, her mouth working as if she couldn’t comprehend what had just happened. Javier had turned his back on her, and there was nothing she could do about it.

Ethan’s parents, still seated in the living. room, exchanged looks of shock and disbelief. They had been silent observers. up until now, but the truth had clearly hit
them hard.
Barbara finally broke the silence. “Lynn… I had no idea. About you and Javier.”
I nodded. “Yes. We were in a relationship before all of this, but that’s over now. I’m with Ethan.”
