Chapter 12 – Mystery Billionaire
I stood there for a moment after Olivia left, still trying to process everything &
An expensive black car pulled up beside me. The window rolled down and Leo’s familiar face popped out.l
Leo grinned. “Sir, why are you all flashy today? And why aren’t you in your usual spot after meeting with your girl?”
I smirked and waited for him to step out of the car!
Once he did, I crossed my arms. “Things took a strange turn today.“!
Leo raised an eyebrow. “Strange how?”
I shrugged. “I somehow ended up married,”
Leo blinked. Then laughed. “Sir, please don’t joke like that. I nearly had a heart attack.“I
“I’m serious.” I kept my face straight.
Leo stared at me like he didn’t believe me. “Come on, you’re pulling my legs.”
I shook my head. “Nope. Married. Officially.“S
“To who?!” Leo asked, voice rising in shock.
“Olivia Bellaire,” I said. “The sole heiress of The Bellaire Group.
Leo’s mouth fell open. “You’re kidding me. Please tell me you’re kidding.”
I chuckled. “No joke.
Leo ran a hand through his hair. “How? How did this even happen?”
“She mistook me for a homeless guy.” I said casually, “Because I was with Rose.”
Leo looked like he couldn’t breathe. “Wait… wait… why in the world did you let her think that?“!
“She was kind,” I said simply. “She didn’t look at me with disgust. She offered Rose a home. Offered to help without asking for anything.”
Leo stared at me like I’d grown two heads. “Sir. that’s insane. Do you know what this means?“)
“I do.” I smiled slightly.”
Leo shook his head in disbelief. “How could she not recognize you? You’re the richest man in New Orleans!”
“Because I kept it that way,” I clapped him on the shoulder. “No interviews. No public appearances. No magazine covers. Mystery billionaire, remember?”
Leo groaned. “You and your love for privacy.”
“It saved me today,” I said with a chuckle.
Leo folded his arms. “So… what now? What does this mean for her? For Rose? For you?E
I looked up at the sky for a second.
“It means I’m staying in this marriage for a year” I said, “And maybe along the way, I’ll help some people who deserve a second chance,”
Leo frowned. “Are you planning to tell her who you really are?“L
I shook my head. “Not now. She doesn’t need another man trying to buy her.”
Leo sighed. “You’re serious about this ”
“I am,” I said. “Very serious.”
There was a pause. Then Leo glanced around. “Sir, we still need to talk about something else…
“What is it?” I asked.
Leo lowered his voice. “The woman from three years ago… the one you were looking for…”
I stiffened slightly. “What about her?”
Leo looked uncomfortable. “We found out she was pregnant.
I felt my stomach twist “Pregnant?”
Leo nodded. “That’s all we know. Nobody’s seen her since then. No one knows where she is. Or if she had the baby.“!
I let out a slow breath.
Pregnant
All this time, I had wondered where she went. Wondered why she left without a word.
And now.
Leo looked at me carefully. “Sir, what do you want to do?“:
“I need to find her,” I said quietly “I need to know the truth“E
Leo nodded “We’re still searching.”
“Good” I rubbed the back of my neck. “In the meantime, I have to go
go to the office. Handle a few things before headin
before heading to Olivia’s
mansion“.
Leo grinned “Mansion life already, huh?
I gave him a half–smile. “It’s not what you

Leo grinned. “Mansion life already, huh?”
I gave him a half–smile. “It’s not what you think.I
Leo laughed. “It never is with you, sic”
I opened the car door “Come on. I’ll fill you in on the way.”
As I slid into the car, my mind was racing
A marriage I didn’t plan.&
A woman from the past carrying secrets I needed to uncover.
A life I wasn’t sure how to balance anymore.
Leo glanced at me once we were inside. “Sir.. what if the woman still doesn’t want to be found?”
I looked out the window.
“Then I’ll find her anyway.” I said. “She deserves to know she’s not alone. And if there’s a child… I need to know.”
Leo nodded silently, driving us into the city lights.
I closed my eyes for a moment.
One thing was clear.
Nothing was ever going to be simple again.
