Chapter 30 – Sweet Revenge
The night of the gala finally arrived.
Chase had gone all out. He hired a team of stylists just to get me ready, Makeup artists, hair stylists, even a fashion consultant As I stood in front of the mirror, I barely recognized myself.
The diamond–studded dress Chase got for me shimmered under the lights. It fit like a second skin, elegant and powerful. When I stepped out. Chase’s mouth dropped open.
“Wow” he whispered. “You’re breathtaking, Liv,”
I blushed so hard I had to look away. “Stop staring.”
He laughed and pulled me close, kissing my forehead. “I can’t help it. You’re perfect.”
Just then, little Rose walked out of her room.
She wore a gold ballgown that sparkled with every step she took.
Cynthia had dressed her up like a true little princess
Her hair was in soft curls, and a tiny tiara sat perfectly on her head
“My angels,” Chase said proudly, his eyes misty!
He looked dashing himself, dressed in a midnight black tuxedo with silver patterns woven into it. So handsome, so strong. He took my hand, then Rose’s.
At that moment, standing between them, I knew I had everything I had ever wanted.
Family. Love. Home.
“Let’s go show them who we are,” Chase said with a wink
We got into the car and headed to the gala venue.
The moment we entered, the entire place froze
Spotlights turned on us instantly. People turned their heads. Whispers started.
I straightened my back and held Chase’s hand tighter.
We walked in gracefully… until Elena and Rosa practically ran up to us
Their smiles were wicked.
“Wow Olivia,” Elena sneered, “You spent a lot of money cleaning up these homeless strays.”
Rosa cackled. “Must feel good, huh? Saving little beggars.”
I said nothing.
Chase squeezed my hand lightly.
Just then, Richard spotted me from across the room. He made his way over.
But as soon as his eyes landed on Chase standing beside me, he froze
I smiled sweetly. “Richard, meet my husband, Chase. And this,” I said, pulling Rose forward, is our daughter, Rose.“%
Richard’s mouth dropped open, but before he could speak, Elena butted in 8
“Still proud, Olivia?” she mocked. “Proud to call these nobodies your family?”
She leaned closer and hissed in my ear, “Your good–for–nothing husband came running and saved you from Jason. Next time, you might not be so lucky”
I felt Chase tense beside me, but before I could say anything, Richard snapped
“Do you two ever shut up?” he barked at Elena and Rosa. “If you had an ounce of intelligence, you’d recognize the man beside her.”
They both laughed mockingly.
Richard growled in frustration. “That’s Chase Davenport! CEO of Davenport Industries. Owner of tonight’s gala
The laughter stopped immediately.
Elena and Rosa stared at Chase like they had just seen a ghost.}
Their mouths opened, but no sound came out.}
Richard suddenly dropped to his knees in front of me,
“Olivia, please,” he begged, “Please, beg Mr. Davenport to help me get my company back. I’ll do anything.”
Elena screamed. “Richard, you’re embarrassing me! Get up!“%
He turned on her furiously. “This is all your fault, you witch!”
When he tried to grab my feet, I kicked him away, disgusted.
Without looking back, I walked away, holding Chase’s hand. Rose skipped beside us, giggling.!!
Moments later, Chase walked up to the podium.
The host announced him loudly
Please welcome Chase Davenport CEO of Davenport Industries and tonight’s host
“Please welcome, Chase Davenport, CEO of Davenport Industries, and tonight’s host.”
The room broke into gasps and claps.)
Chase smiled, his eyes finding mine in the crowd
“I’d like to introduce my beautiful wife, Olivia Bellaire Davenport,” he said proudly, waving for me to come up.
The crowd clapped louder.
“And this, Chase said, picking up Rose and kissing her cheek, “is our daughter, Rose Davenport.”
Cameras flashed as people stared at us surprised.
But Chase wasn’t finished.
“And tonight,” he said, his voice dropping, “we reveal the truth”
The crowd quieted.

“Elena and Rosa plotted to destroy my wife. They started the fire at the hospital. They arranged for her to be violated by Jason. And they tried to murder our daughter before she was even born.
Chase showed proof on the screen video of the fire at the hospital, Jason’s confession, and lastly the midwife’s confession
The crowd gasped in horror!!
All eyes turned to Elena and Rosa.
Richard looked like someone had punched him:
The police entered the room.
Elena immediately started crying.
“I’m pregnant! Please, I’m pregnant!” she wailed, clutching her stomach dramatically
She grabbed at Richard. “Help mel Please, Richard!”
Richard shoved her away roughly.

Rosa tried to run, but the police caught her.X
Handcuffs clicked loudly.
As they dragged Elena and Rosn away. Elena sobbed loudly, “It wasn’t supposed to be like this?
Richard stumbled after me, desperate.
He ran to the podium and fell to his knees again.
“Olivia, please! I was wrong! I see that now! Forgive me!”
He wept, snot running down his face, completely humiliated.
I barely even looked at him.3
Instead, I turned to Chase.}
He smiled, leaned down, and kissed me deeply.
Rose clapped her tiny hands happily, giggling.
The crowd exploded in cheers and applause..
I pulled away, smiling through happy tears. This was my real family. This was love.!!

We stepped down from the podium together, walking past Richard like he didn’t exist &
He grabbed my ankle, still begging.
But I stepped over him like he was nothing but dirt under my feet.
Revenge had never tasted this sweet and for the first time in a long while I was grateful to my late father.
If he hadn’t put up that stipulation in his will then maybe I wouldn’t have found my true love and our daughter!!
