Chapter 7
I raised an eyebrow. Intrigued by Marcus’s words, I asked, “Your partner?”
Marcus nodded in agreement. His smile grew wider as he replied in a deep voice, “Yes, Rosaline. I’ve been watching you, and I’m impressed. You’re intelligent, resourceful, and determined. I think we could make a great team.”
I felt a shiver run down my spine as Marcus’s eyes locked onto mine. There was something intense about his gaze,
something that made me feel like he could see right through me.
“What kind of partnership?” I asked while narrowing my eyes. I wanted him to be clear with me. But he chuckled. He stared at me for a while before saying, “I think we can discuss the details later. But let’s just say that I’m willing to offer you a deal that will change your life forever.”

I hesitated, unsure of what to make of Marcus’s words. Part of me was tempted to accept his offer, to see where this
mysterious partnership would lead. But another part of me was cautious of him, warning me to stay away from this powerful and ruthless man as Marcus had a really bad reputation in the business world. He had been in the top for years. because rumours were that he had crushed many of his competitors in his way and now David was one of them.
As I stood there, weighing my options, Marcus’s assistant interrupted us as he leaned closer to Marcus before reminding him, “Sir, we have a meeting with the investors in an hour,”
Marcus nodded. His expression turned serious while talking to his assistant,“Very
well. I’ll be there soon.”
He turned back to me, his eyes locked onto mine and a smile appeared on his face. again as he pushed a card towards me

before adding, “Rosaline, this is my personal number. Whenever you accept my offer and feel like working with me, just
give me a call and my men will rea ch out to you immediately.”
With that, he stood up and walked up to the door. He paused and turned to look at me with a pair of big black eyes, saying in a soft and gentle voice, “I’ I be waiting for your call, Rosaline!”
After that he left with his men, leaving me feeling both intrigued and intimidated.
As I left the hotel room, I found two men and a big black Lamborghini waiting for me. One of the men walked up to me and said politely, “Miss Rosaline, Our boss asked us to drop you to the airport safely. Please come and sit in the car.”
“How does he know I’m leaving the country?” I chuckled,
“He knows everything about you.” He replied, leaving me stunned.
Chapter 7
As I sat in the car, I heard a loud noise outside, I scrolled the window downwards only to find a chopper flying above the car. Marcus was sitting in it. He waved at me with a smile and then hinted to the pilot to drive him away. While staring at the chopper flying away in the sky, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that my life was going to change.
“I want to apologise to you”
“Be my partner”
“I’ll be waiting for your call,”
Marcus’s words were still echoing in my. head. Though he said everything in terms of his business, It felt like there was much more into it. Every word coming out of his mouth fell with a mysterious hint. It felt like they were hiding other meanings
behind it.
Thinking too much about our meeting. made my head spin. I shrugged off those thoughts as the driver dropped me outside.

the airport. Suddenly my phone buzzed with notifications. It was Cinthia’s message.
“Thanks for understanding it soon and leaving the company on your own. There isn’t any place for you in David’s
company. Don’t worry, I’ll take your place in his company and in his heart, better than you.”
I didn’t reply to her. Instead, I took a screenshot of his message and sent it to David. Then I turned off my phone and threw it into a nearby trash can. When the plane touched down at its destination, there were orange hues in the sky. It wasn’t. a full morning yet, but early sun rays pierced through the clouds.
