Chapter 15
“Freya, you can’t do this…” Lucian‘ s voice cracked through the phone, a mix of anger and desperation. “I have to be honest. My heart–it‘ s weak. You‘ ve broken me, my wolf. And you‘ re going to die out there!”
I remained silent, letting his words hang in the air.
“You‘ re going to break your own heart if you don’t come back to me,” he pleaded.
“You can’t survive without me. The rogues will tear you apart, and the hunters in the city? It’s not safe for someone like you.”
I could hear him pacing, his frustration mounting.
“Freya, we both made mistakes,” he continued, his tone shifting to anger.
“How can you do this to me? You almost killed Vlanche! And yes, I didn’t defend

you when they said you couldn’t get pregnant, but that was the truth! Stop pretending this is about something else to justify leaving!”
My jaw tightened, the familiar sting of his words pressing against my resolve.
He softened suddenly, his voice taking on a coaxing tone. “Let’s fix this. I’ll pick you up, and we’ll go to the hospital again. Let’s try for a child, Freya. Together. Please.”
I rolled my eyes and ended the call without a word, my patience finally snapping.
Moments later, my phone buzzed again. This time, it was messages from Vlanche. My stomach churned as I opened them.
Vlanche:
“Old wolf, you can’t compete with me, so just step aside.”
“In Lucian’s heart, you‘ re nothing more than a faint scent in the wind, easily

forgotten. Me? I’m his white moonflower,
his destined Luna.”
My wolf stirred, growling faintly, but I held her back, forcing myself to remain calm.
Vlanche:
“You couldn’t give him a pup after all these years as his mate. I’m already two months pregnant. Even if you cling to the title of Luna, the child I carry will inherit the Alpha’s legacy.”
“An old wolf with no heirs–how do you plan to challenge me for the pack‘ s future?”
“If you beg me, I might be generous enough to let you stay in the Omega quarters. Maybe I’ll even give you a few coins each moon cycle so you can scrape by.”
I let out a low, humorless laugh, her taunts more amusing than painful. My wolf rumbled beneath the surface, simmering with restrained fury as I typed my

response.
Me:
“Who needs the Crimson Moon Pack‘ s
pity?”
“I stayed for eight years, giving him everything I had. If it wasn‘ t for my loyalty, I wouldn’t have wasted another second there.”
“So, good luck, Vlanche. You’ll need it.”
With a final, satisfying tap, I blocked her number, tossing my phone onto the bed.
The room was silent except for the faint hum of the night, but inside me, my wolf stirred. This wasn’t about Lucian or
Vlanche anymore.
This was about me–and the power I was finally ready to reclaim.
The next morning, peace settled over me for the first time in years.
My mother, a regal she–wolf with silver

streaks in her dark hair, descended the
stairs of our ack manor and called out to
- me.
“Freya,” she began, her tone sharp but filled with pride. “Tomorrow, it’s a ball party for Lunas and Alphas, to be held in our owned place and you will have another negotiations with the Alpha from the Silver Vale Pack. I bet you don’t forget to strike a deal after staying in that cheap pack?”
I smirked, pulling out a thick stack of documents and placing them on the table. “The early wolf catches the prey, Mother. I’ve been preparing for this alliance for weeks.” My confidence burned as bright as the morning sun. “Just watch–I‘ m 80% sure I’ll have Alpha Theron signing the agreement before the full moon.”
My mother’s eyes softened, though her face remained stern. “Good. Show them
what it means to deal with a Stormhood.”

my birthright, my heart no longer felt weighed down by the past.
Now, I was ready to build a new future- one where I was no longer just someone’s Luna but the Alpha I was always meant to be.
