Chapter 18
“Security!” I called out again, my voice firm and commanding. Within seconds, the guards rushed in and grabbed Lucian’s arms, yanking him back with practiced ease.
“Who the hell are you to act like you‘ re in charge, huh?” he howled, thrashing against their grip. “You‘ re lucky you‘ re with another man right now, but I’ll never leave you alone!”
He hissed and struggled, his wolf pushing to the surface, but the guards were
stronger, their combined force easily restraining him.
“I’m an Alpha!” he bellowed, his face red with fury. “Why are you listening to some spineless woman‘ s orders?”
I rolled my eyes at his tantrum, my patience wearing thin. He had no idea who he was dealing with–but I had no intention

of enlightening him just yet. Perhaps later, in a more dramatic and fitting setting.
Turning my attention back to Alpha Theron, I caught his amused smirk.
“You‘ re powerful, Freya Stormhood, Theron said, his deep baritone voice. cutting through the chaos. “You don’t even need me to interfere.”
“Thank you, but I don‘ t need protection when it comes to him,” I said, waving a dismissive hand. “He’s nothing more than a loud dog.
”
Theron raised a brow. “He doesn‘ t know
you‘ re a Stormhood?”
I shrugged lightly, a faint smirk tugging at my lips. “That’s right. He doesn’t know.”
He gasped in mock surprise, shaking his head. “No wonder he speaks like he’s the king of the world. If he knew…” Theron trailed off, chuckling.

“But you agreed to our talks,” I reminded him, steering the conversation back to
business.
“Of course, Ms. Freya,” he replied, his voice smooth and rich.
Theron slid the signed documents across the table toward me, sealing our agreement. I leaned back in satisfaction, knowing this deal would solidify my influence and, by extension, hold Lucian’s fragile pack together–something
he was too blind to see. His arrogance would be his undoing.
Later that night, the grand hall was filled with the hum of conversations and
laughter as the guests arrived. Alphas and their Lunas, adorned in their finest, entered one by one, their eyes scanning the
room.
“Is this the Alpha‘ s heir?” Luna Amaya. of the neighboring pack asked, her gaze scanning me with admiration.

“Yes,” I said with a polite smile. “I‘ m Freya Stormhood.”
“Oh, dear, there’s no need for introductions,” she chuckled warmly.
“Just by your presence alone, it’s clear you‘ re destined to carry your pack‘ s legacy. What an honor to meet you.”
I smiled at her kind words, exchanging handshakes and warm embraces with the other Alphas and Lunas.
“I’ve heard you trained abroad for years,” Luna Amaya continued, her tone filled with curiosity. “Such dedication-”
Her words were cut off as the atmosphere shifted. The doors opened, and Alpha Darian entered the hall, his powerful presence commanding attention.
Conversations faltered, and all eyes turned
to him.
He smirked as his piercing blue gaze locked onto mine. “Freya?” His voice was deep and smooth, laced with curiosity.

“Luna of the Crimson Moon Pack?”
Luna Amaya chuckled softly, breaking the tension. “Alpha Darian, how could you not know? You‘ re one of their biggest allies, after all. But let me correct you- Freya could never remain a Luna of such a small pack. She’s already a leader of her own.”
The others murmured in agreement, their admiration palpable.
Alpha Darian’s gaze remained fixed on me, his intense blue eyes
seeming to ask questions I wasn’t ready to answer.
I maintained my composure, offering a polite smile. “There’s no need for speculation, Alpha Darian,” I said evenly. “Yes, I was once someone’s Luna. I was ridiculed, cheated on, and dismissed. But now, I’ve severed that bond, and it appears he’s struggling to accept my rejection.”
Darian’s smirk widened, his eyes glinting

with intrigue. “So, you‘ re single now,” he said, his voice dropping slightly.
Luna Amaya gasped, shaking her head in disbelief. “What? A Winterpelt dared to cheat on someone like you? Your bloodline is rare, Freya–powerful beyond measure. And yet, he threw it away?” Her voice rose with indignation. “He deserves to face punishment for such a disgraceful act!”
The other Alphas nodded in agreement, their expressions mirroring her outrage.
I shrugged lightly, my smile unwavering.
“Perhaps he does. But I’ve already moved forward. His actions no longer
concern me.
Alpha Darian leaned closer, his deep blue eyes never leaving mine. “Freya, if I were him, I wouldn’t be breathing right now. But then again, a weak man like Lucian doesn’t deserve someone of your stature. A rare bloodline like yours needs someone. who knows how to protect it, not squander
it.”

His words were laced with both admiration and a hint of possessiveness. Typical Alpha behavior, yet somehow, when Darian said it, it felt… different. His confidence was unwavering, almost magnetic, and his presence made the room feel smaller, as though it was just the two of us.
Alpha Darian stepped closer to me, hist piercing blue eyes holding mine with an intensity that made the room feel smaller. His voice dropped, low and smooth. “I have to admit,” he began, his words. deliberate, “I didn’t go to that pack to discuss alliances. I went there to see you.”
My breath hitched slightly, but I kept my expression neutral, waiting for him to continue.
“It wasn‘ t because I knew you were a Stormhood,” he added, his lips curving into a faint smirk. “It was because I saw
you with Boone. And all I could think about was how stunning you looked, how much you stood out among everyone else.”
