Chapter 90
After saying that, I didn’t want to see his face for another second. I was about to turn around when he suddenly lunged forward and grabbed my leg, “Rose, please don’t treat me like this. I admit it, I was a bastard. I took your love for granted, thinking no matter how badly I hurt you, you’d never leave me.“>
“I didn’t expect that the day you really walked away, I’d be scared out of my mind. Believe it or not, in my heart, you’re the only one I consider my wife. Mariska was just a way to pass the time when I was bored,” he pleaded.”
Off to the side, Mariska visibly flinched. Her tears hit the ground nonstop, but she didn’t dare say a word.”
I couldn’t take it anymore and kicked him away. I called the bodyguards and had them both thrown out. I also warned the guards, if these two ever showed up again, beat them up and throw them out on sight.
On our wedding day, Frank came early to pick me up.
When we arrived at the hotel, someone rushed in, panicked and shouted, “Miss Parker! Mr. Osborn is on the rooftop threatening to jump! He says if he doesn’t see you in ten minutes, he’ll jump right off!“}
I didn’t want to deal with him, but with so many guests here today, if anything happened, it could ruin our entire wedding.}
I sighed wearily and a pair of strong arms pulled me into a warm embrace. Frank gently kissed my forehead, “Go ahead, I’ll wait for you to come back so we can get married.”}
When Gary saw me, his eyes lit up. Even though it had only been a few days, he looked like he’d aged decades. His clothes were filthy, his eyes sunken and his cheekbones jutted out sharply.
There was a dark, menacing aura about him. He said, “Rose, I knew it. You still care about me.“>
My gaze was cold. “I told you, it’s over. Even if you jump right now, I won’t spare you a glance.“}
His eyes flashed with unwillingness, “Why? What does Frank have that I don’t? I just made the same mistake all men make. I know I was wrong now, why won’t you give me another chance?“>
He cried out, “You think Frank is some saint? I know men, I am a man. There’s no way he’ll stay faithful after marriage.“}
I frowned in disgust, “Stop assuming every man is like you.”
Gary’s eyes turned red, tears streamed down uncontrollably, “Fine, I’ll let you go. But I have one last request, before you marry someone else, kiss me one last time.“}
I refused, “You’re insane.“}
Gary laughed hysterically, “If you don’t kiss me, I’ll jump. I’ll splatter blood all over your wedding. Then every anniversary will also be the day of my death. You’ll never forget me.”
I stayed silent for a moment, then reluctantly nodded. Before walked toward him, I subtly signaled the rescue team nearby.§
Just when I got within arm’s reach, he suddenly lunged toward me, eyes filled with madness, “If I can’t have you, then Frank won’t either. Rose, let’s die together and be husband and wife in hell!“>
In that critical moment, a disheveled Mariska suddenly rushed in, holding a pillow in her arms. She screamed hysterically, “You killed my child! You’ll pay for it with your life!“}
She slammed into us and as we tumbled off the balcony, I thought I was done for. But a hand gripped me tightly, refused to let go.§ Frank pulled me back up, just as two loud crashes sounded from below.
I curled up in his arms, trembled uncontrollably.
“Don’t be scared, it’s over now. I’m here,” he said. Pressed against his strong, steady heartbeat, I finally calmed down.§
Gary and Mariska died on the spot and our wedding was postponed by one day. It was too unlucky to share the date with Gary’s death anniversary.”
A year later, we welcomed twin daughters into the world. Frank named them Sienna and Anna.
For the rest of our lives, it was only peace and joy, year after year.
