Chapter 21
Clara kept her eyes on the door while mindlessly chatting with Russell.
She thought, “Why isn’t that bitch, Cassandra, back yet?”

The tea she had specially prepared for Cassandra had already gone cold. At this point, she was worn out from talking to Russell.
After Cassandra left the room, Russell became somewhat unruly. He overtly took advantage of Clara by touching her hand and attempting to pull her into a hug.
Obviously, she was very appalled by his behavior.
Russell was a balding man with a beer belly. He was a sleazy, repulsive man who came from new money.
Clara started to regret following Cassandra to this dinner.
She thought, “Damn it! It’s just me and Mr. Hawk in this room!”
Russell looked like he wanted to eat her alive.
She tried to suppress her discomfort and kept calm. Tilting her body, she tactfully dodged his wandering hand and put on a professional smile.
“Mr. Hawk, why don’t we go over the contract? I can explain it to you if you have any questions.”
Russell was upset at her avoidance. His smile froze, but soon, he reverted to his skanky self.
“Hey, Clara. Let’s not rush the contract. Ms. Callum has explained the contract in clear terms to me just now. I’ll sign the contract if I have a good time with you.”
Clara was enraged at his blatant and shameless remark. However, she had to keep her feelings to herself because he was an important client.
Aidan would blame it on her if she offended Russell.
This was all Cassandra’s fault!
“Mr. Hawk, you’re such a joker. Come! Have some
ca! I wonder where Cassandra has gone. I’ll look for her.” Clara cooked up an excuse and tried to leave.
Looking annoyed, Russell tried to go after Clara, but someone stopped him.
“It’s been a while, Mr. Hawk.” The visitor was a gentleman in glasses who looked intimidating.
Russell gasped when he saw the man. “Liam, it’s you! Here. Enjoy some tea.”
Russell enthusiastically hosted Liam and forgot about Clara for the time being.
Liam was Tristan’s right–hand man. Since ineeting Liam was difficult, Russell wouldn’t waste his chance to network with him.
Liam entered the room, looking calm. “Mr. Hawk, I’m here with a purpose. Mr. Freeman’s wife was here to negotiate a contract. I wonder if you’ve signed it.”
Liam himself was shocked to learn that Tristan was married, a piece of news that he had just received. He could tell that Tristan doted on his wife very much, or Tristan wouldn’t have made him show up in person to resolve such a minor issue.
Russel! jumped in shock as well. “What did you say? Is Mr. Freeman married?”
“Mr. Hawk, please keep it a secret. If you’ve signed that contract, please give it to me so I can hand it to Mr. Freeman,” Liam urged.
Russell’s heart raced. He didn’t know he was talking to Tristan’s wife just now.
If he had known, he would have signed the contract without a word. Liam didn’t need to show up at all.
He regretted not knowing Cassandra’s identity.
He dared not dilly–dally and immediately signed the contract. After that, he handed it to Liam with much
Liam glanced at the contract and said, “Mr. Hawk, I’m sorry for the trouble.”

respect.
“Not at all! I might have to trouble you in the future.” Russell wanted to offer this favor in exchange for their help in the future.
“No problem. I’ll bring the contract to Mr. Freeman now,” Liarn replied.
“Okay. I showed up today to get the contract from the ladies. Now that you have it, I shall go home.” With that, Russell left the dining room with Liam,
Clara looked around but did not find Cassandra anywhere. She asked around and found out that Cassandra had gone home.
Clara frowned irritably when she heard that Cassandra had escaped. Wasn’t Cassandra going to discuss the contract with Russell?
