This slap made my head spin. I staggered back a few steps, barely managing to grab onto the shoe cabinet to steady myself.
When I regained my balance, I found an angry Robert and a pretentiously distressed Autumn in front of me.
“You ungrateful daughter, what are you trying to do!” Robert pointed at me, shaking with anger. “How dare you send people to remove things from your Aunt Autumn’s house! Don’t you know the law? This is illegal, do you understand?”
“Robert, don’t be so angry.” Autumn timely grabbed Robert’s hand, then wiped non–existent tears from her eyes. “It’s just that, Lydia, you’ve gone too far this time. I can understand if you don’t want your father to buy things for me, but how could you sue Greg?”
Autumn cried a bit more, and the distressed Robert turned to embrace her, while glaring at me. “Quickly tell your people to return the things to your Aunt Autumn! And tell your lawyer or whoever to release Greg! He was just being nice, bringing his friends to see you. Look at you, you’re just as difficult as your mother!”
Hearing my mom’s name mentioned, my heart ached.
In the past, whenever Robert mentioned my mom, it was always about how wonderful she was. Now when she was brought up, it was with a tone full of disgust.
I carefully examined the Robert in front of me. Yes, he looked like him, but he didn’t seem to be the dad I remembered.
“The things were bought with my money, I have the right to dispose of them. And you two,” I stepped back, placing my hand on the alarm button by the door. “You two came to my home without my permission, assaulted me, and even leaked my personal information. I will take legal action against you both.”

Hearing this, Robert stopped comforting Autumn, and Autumn stopped crying.
They both looked at me in disbelief, as if they hadn’t heard clearly what I said.
“I’m your father, you’re going to sue me?”
Without hesitation, I pressed the alarm button. This alarm was connected to the apartment’s security office and would bring someone immediately.
Robert was furious and tried to approach me again. Autumn didn’t try to stop him this time, her eyes full of hatred towards me.
Fortunately, the security guards arrived in time, quickly subduing Robert who had pinned me to the ground, and restraining Autumn as well.
This incident ended up at the police station. Upon learning of our family relationship, the police were a bit troubled, saying this was an internal family dispute and suggested we go home to resolve it.
Autumn visibly relaxed, looking at me with a challenging gaze, as if she thought I had no other options.
I smiled and pointed at Autumn. “There’s one more thing, this woman stole from me!”

Everyone was shocked, and Robert looked at Autumn.
It was on the way here that I had checked the home security footage. After Robert brought Autumn to my place, he went to the bathroom.
Autumn took this opportunity to run into my bedroom, greedily taking many of my gold jewelry pieces and luxury accessories.
The police immediately began searching her, and sure enough, they found quite a few pieces of jewelry.
With the surveillance video as evidence, Autumn was left speechless. She could only look at Robert with pleading eyes.
“Robert, help me…”
I scoffed, signing the police report while looking at Robert.
“This is your wonderful girlfriend.”
I left the rest to the police to handle. As soon as I got home, I changed the locks and instructed the security not to let my dad in anymore.
I had completely lost faith in Robert. Afterwards, Robert called me several times, but I didn’t answer.
His goal was simple: he wanted me to reconcile, to get Autumn and her precious nephew released.
I refused everything. Robert angrily kept sending me messages, full of vulgar language.
There was no trace of the loving father from before, as if the past caring dad was just an illusion.
Autumn was sentenced to a few months for theft of a substantial amount. After she got out, I received news that Robert had immediately married her.
To this, I could only say that it was a match made in heaven, and they should respect my wishes and stay away from me.
But clearly, they had no intention of letting me go.
