Chapter 11 – A Shocking Revelation
Rachel’s Pov
I couldn’t breathe.
Xavier stood before me, no longer the helpless man–child I had believed him to be.
His posture was straight, powerful. He was taller than me–much taller,
His eyes were sharp, intelligent, calculating. He wasn’t dazed or confused
There was no innocence, no vacant expression.
He looked dangerous.
“You… you can walk?” My voice was barely a whisper.
Xavier tilted his head slightly, watching me like a predator studying its prey.
“And talk,” he said smoothly.
My chest rose and fell rapidly. My mind struggled to process what I was seeing.
“You’re not crippled? You don’t have the brain of a baby?” My voice cracked with disbelief. “Then why-”
Xavier held up a hand. “Calm down, Rachel.” His voice was calm, yet firm. “There’s a rational explanation for this.”
“Rational?” I let out a hysterical laugh. “I bathed you! I stripped you because I thought you were a child!”
A slow smirk spread across his lips. “That day was tough, I won’t lie.” His eyes gleamed with mischief. “I tried my best not to get a boner.”
I froze.
He took a deliberate step closer, voice dropping into a low, teasing tone.
“But now that I think about it…” He let out a dramatic sigh. “I don’t know how I managed to resist you.”
My palm connected with his cheek before I could stop myself.
Xavier barely flinched. If anything, his smirk deepened, his gaze darkening as he stared at
- me.
“You lied to me,” I hissed. “You watched me-”
He moved fast. Too fast.
His hands gripped my waist and pulled me forward, slamming me against his chest.
I gasped, struggling against his hold.
But I was too close.
Way too close.
His scent was intoxicating–a mix of fresh aftershave and dark coffee.

His scent was intoxicating–a mix of fresh aftershave and dark coffee.
My heart pounded as warmth spread through my body, pooling in my belly
A strange fluttering sensation tightened in my chest, and heat crept up my neck,
I hated this.
I hated how my body reacted to him.
“Let me go,” I whispered, but my voice lacked conviction,
Xavier leaned in, his lips ghosting over my ear. “Why?”
My breath hitched.
Why was I feeling this way? I had never looked at him like this before.
He had always been nothing more than a helpless man with the mind of a child,
Except now…
Now, I know better.
I had been living with a full–blooded, very aware man.
And he was playing with me.
Xavier chuckled softly, his fingers trailing up my spine.
“You’re acting so cold, Rachel.” His voice was laced with amusement. “Aren’t you my wife?”
I clenched my jaw, trying to push him away, but he didn’t budge.
His lips brushed against my neck, sending an electric jolt down my spine. And then–he bit
- me.
I gasped, feeling the sharp sting as he pulled back slightly, inspecting the mark he had left on my skin.
“A hickey,” he murmured in satisfaction.
My legs trembled. I felt weak in his arms, my body betraying me in ways I hated.
I could feel the wetness pool between my legs as my toes curled.
“Stop it,” I murmured, my words lacking conviction again.
He chuckled, “Why? Didn’t you ask me what it means to be married?”
I knew he was enjoying torturing me especially since he knew how my body reacted to him.
This was not happening.
This was not real.
I needed to get away from him.
Then, his voice turned cold.
“Why are you here, Rachel?”
I blinked, disoriented. “W–What?”

His grip on me tightened.
“What are you planning with Michael?”
My breath caught in my throat.
Michael?
What did Michael have to do with this?
50%
Xavier’s expression shifted–his playful smirk was gone, replaced by something deadly. His eyes were sharp, calculating.
“Cut the crap,” he said, his tone chilling. “I know Michael sent you. He wants to know what I’m up to, doesn’t he?”
I stared at him in shock. “What are you talking about?”
Xavier let out a low laugh, but there was no humor in it. “Don’t act innocent. We both know you’d do anything for Michael.” His fingers brushed against my jaw before tightening ever so slightly. “Even if it means sleeping with another man.”
I saw red.
My palm connected with his cheek again.
This time, he flinched.
My entire body trembled with rage. “How dare you?”
Xavier slowly turned his face back to me, his expression unreadable.
For a moment, there was silence.
Thick. Heavy. Dangerous.
Then, he smirked.
And that scared me more than anything else.
