Drake looked at her as if she were a dead person. “Shut up, don’t tarnish the word “love.” Evan sneered coldly. “A person who schemes against others can’t be called loving. Liora, Dad never wants to see you again.”
He signed. “I just don’t understand. The Sterling Family always treated you so well, but why did you still target Narissa so ruthlessly?”
At these words, Liora suddenly snapped, “Target? It was your mom who targeted us.” Evan’s expression stiffened. He never expected that she would still say something like that. However, Liora could only sneer. “Don’t look at me with those hateful eyes. Back then, when my mom and dad were together, if it weren’t for that bitch, Jian Astrid, seducing my father, my mother and I wouldn’t have been forced to stay abroad for so many years.”
It was clearly Elowen who fell in love with Astrid at first sight and pursued her multiple times, yet she twisted the story, claiming it was Astrid who seduced the father.
Evan’s veins bulged and his hatred for her reached its peak. “Your mother was the one who seduce my dad. Your mom was a mistress and so are you!”
The words cut deep into Liora, but instead of showing pain, she laughed bitterly, her eyes full of hatred. “Drake, Evan, you don’t really think that everything Narissa went through is my
fault, do you?”
She said to Evan, “Evan, if it weren’t for you, how could I have planted people inside? And those people, by the way, were chosen by you, right? In the end, you’re the one who caused her the most harm. What right do you have to point the finger at me?”
In that instant, Evan widened his eyes in shock. “No… I didn’t know. I just thought…”
He couldn’t continue his sentence.
Liora smirked and finished it for him. “I know. You just thought I was going to teach her a small lesson. But, you’re just as guilty. How can you act so innocent?”
Evan’s expression shifted dramatically, a hint of panic flashing in his eyes. “No, I was framed,” he muttered, his voice distant. He kept apologizing, “Narissa, I didn’t mean to… I didn’t know, I swear I didn’t know anything!”
Since Narissa left, his mental state had deteriorated. Drake didn’t want to hear any more of their excuses and snapped, “Tell me, where did you take Narissa?”
Upon hearing this, Liora looked at him and suddenly burst into laughter.
Drake slapped her hard across the face, his expression cold and unfeeling. “Tell me, where is Narissa?”
The smile on her face vanished, replaced by an icy expression. “Drake, if I had the power to do anything to her, I would have done it long ago. Do you really think I would have waited until now? Narissa left on her own, didn’t she?”

A sharp chill flashed through Drake’s eyes, a deep pain stabbing at his heart. He had refused.
to believe it.
But everything pointed to the same truth. Narissa hadn’t been forced to leave; she had
chosen to. She had even erased all traces of her whereabouts, leaving him with no way to track
her down.
That was what hurt him the most. Did she really want to leave them that badly?
Seeing his expression, Liora’s smile grew even brighter. “Drake, when you and I were in her
room that night, your dear love was watching the whole time.”
Her words struck Drake like a bolt of lightning. His expression darkened as he glared at her.
“You did it on purpose. You seduced me just so Narissa would see!”
Liora scoffed, looking at him with pure disdain. “If you hadn’t wanted it, would I have
succeeded in seducing you? Just imagine how furious she must have been watching us.”
He now understood. No wonder Narissa left him. No wonder she erased all traces of his
existence from her life. So this was the reason.
Drake shut his eyes in anguish, his heart twisting in pain. But when he opened them again,
all emotion had vanished. His voice was icy as he declared, “You will never walk free again. I will make sure you and your mother suffer exactly as Narissa did.”
Liora’s expression froze. She glared at Drake, her face contorted with rage and desperation.
“No! You can’t do this to me! My dad won’t let you!”
Drake chuckled coldly. “Is that so? Too bad your dad would rather die than see you again.”
Liora’s world crumbled.
Meanwhile, Elowen had sunk into despair, drowning himself in alcohol every night, calling.
out Astrid’s name in his drunken stupor. His grief was unbearable, his tears long since dried up.
“Astrid… I failed you… I failed our Narissa…”
As for Evan, he took over the company while undergoing treatment at the hospital. But no
matter how much he tried to keep himself together, his mind remained fixated on one thing; finding Narissa.
He had wronged her. Every night, he lay awake, haunted by thoughts of his little sister he had betrayed.
If he finally found her, he would apologize. He would tell her that she was never at fault, that he had been blind, deceived by lies and had hurt her because of it.
And if she was willing to return, he would spend the rest of his life making it up to her, protecting her as he should have from the start.
