Drake spent his days in Narissa’s home, drowning himself in alcohol. One night, in a daze, he thought he saw Narissa return.
But as soon as she saw him, she turned and walked away. Panic gripped his heart. In his desperate rush, he ran after her, but she vanished before he could reach her.
Every time he was close, she seemed to drift farther away. After several failed attempts, Drake completely broke down.
“Narissa, please don’t leave! If you come back, I’ll give you anything you want. Please… don’t go!”
As he spoke, his voice trembled, unable to hold back the sobs. His blurry vision caught a fleeting shadow. He took a hesitant step forward, reaching out to her, whispering, “Please, don’t go.”
The next moment, her figure faded like mist and Drake fell from the balcony.
The following day, the servants found him unconscious in the grass, still calling out Narissa’s name. He was rushed to the hospital, where his legs were severely injured.
At the hospital, Drake’s mother was crying beside him, while his father was furious. “Drake, it’s just one woman. Can you be more rational?”
Drake lay pale, eyes shut, not uttering a word. His father, filled with frustration, couldn’t help but sneer. “If it weren’t for the lawn outside and the servants finding you early, you’d be dead by now.”
Drake’s mother pleaded with tears streaming down her face, “Drake, don’t go back to the Kingsley Family. The bad luck has been endless. First, you couldn’t keep Narissa and now she’s gone… just let it go.”
Drake was wrapped up tightly in bandages. Upon hearing her words, he opened his eyes, his cold as he looked at his mother. “Mom, Narissa isn’t dead. I will find her. She just doesn’t
want to see me!”

As he spoke, his eyes were bloodshot, his expression twisted in pain. ‘Narissa, what do I have to do for you to come back?”
Afterward, rumors about the Sterling Family’s house being haunted spread like wildfire. But for Evan, it became an obsession.
He couldn’t resist going into Narissa’s room and everytime he looked at the familiar furnishings, memories of their time together flooded his mind and his eyes filled with tears.
While receiving treatment, his mind remained hazy. He mumbled to himself, “Narissa, Drake said he saw you. Can you appear too, so that I can see you for just one more time?”
But soon, his expression twisted in pain, his eyes bloodshot as he spoke, “Narissa, I should’ve realized it earlier. If you were alive and saw me like this, you wouldn’t be so heartless.
But Narissa I’d rather you he heartless and refuse to see me than for you to be gone”

That day, he mimicked Drake, drinking heavily in Narissa’s room. He drank himself into a stupor, collapsing on the floor. But when he woke up, she still wasn’t there.
He broke down in the room, his sanity unraveling. His voice hoarse as he screamed, “Why would you show yourself to Drake but not to me, your brother? Do you hate me that much?”
Seeing him lose his mind, the servants of the Sterling Family were left in disbelief. Many of them quit, leaving only the sickly Elowen and the mentally shattered Evan.
They took the video and uploaded it online, but instead of receiving any sympathy, they were
met with harsh criticism.
Some people mocked, “This is nothing but karma!”
After Drake’s suicide attempt, he was completely confined to the hospital by the Kingsley
Family.
Evan came to visit him and said, “Drake, it’s impossible to not find someone when they’re
alive. But Narissa… perhaps she’s no longer here.”
His words ignited Drake’s fury. He slammed his fist into Evan’s face, seething, “Shut up! She’s not that fragile. She’s alive and she will never leave us!”
Evan closed his eyes, his voice hoarse with sorrow. “I wish that were true. But if she knew
we were still looking for her, she wouldn’t have been so heartless. It’s been more than a year
now.”
“Narissa is a soft–hearted person,” he added quietly, his body shaking with exhaustion.
Finally, with a painful smile, Evan staggered away as he turned and left the room. Drake was left alone in the room, his eyes brimming with tears, completely overwhelmed by
despair.
