I woke up gasping, my scream echoing through the room. My chest heaved as the vivid memories of the
warehouse flooded back–Adrian’s sinister smile, the pain in my arm, the gunshots, and the chaos.
“Felicity.” Hans’s voice broke through the haze, firm but gentle. His hands were on my shoulders, steadying me. “You’re safe now. It’s over.”
He Cond and Begged when too Late
I blinked, my breaths ragged as my surroundings came into focus. The soft hues of Hans’s estate replaced the cold, grim warehouse. Hans sat beside me, his face pale but determined, a fresh bandage on his shoulder a stark reminder of what he’d endured.
“What happened?” I asked, my voice hoarse.
Hans sighed, his thumb brushing against my hand. “You’re safe. That’s all that matters.”
“Tell me,” I pressed, needing to hear it.
He hesitated but relented. “The men from Adrian’s mafia group have been taken into custody. Adrian… didn’t make it. During the chaos, he was caught in the crossfire. The authorities are still looking for the mafia boss, but without Adrian, their focus on you has lessened. For now, you’re safe”
I felt a mix of relief and something I couldn’t quite name. Adrian was gone. The man who had been a constant source of pain and fear in my life was no longer a threat
Tears welled in my eyes, but they weren’t tears of sadness. They were tears of release, of the weight I had carried for so long finally being lifted. “It’s really over?” I whispered.
Hans nodded, pulling me into his arms. “It’s over. Rest now. You’ve been through enough”
I spent the next few days in bed, regaining my strength. Hans was by my side, attentive and patient, ensuring i had everything I needed.
One morning, the television flickered on, catching my attention. A news anchor solemnly announced Adrian’s funeral arrangements. Footage of his family and former associates flashed on the screen, their faces a mix of grief and disbelief.
I felt nothing. No sadness, no anger, no pity. Adrian had made his choices, and they had led him to his end. All I wanted was to move forward, away from the shadows of my past.
Hans entered the room with a tray of breakfast, noticing the look on my face as I watched the screen. “You don’t have to watch that,” he said, placing the tray on the bedside table.
“I’m not,” I replied, turning off the TV “I’m done looking back.”
Hans smiled, leaning down to kiss my forehead. “That’s my girl.”
A few days later, I was discharged. Hans insisted on taking me home himself, despite still recovering from his injuries. The ride back to the estate was quiet, the tension of the past few weeks slowly melting away
When we arrived, Hans led me inside, his hand warm and reassuring in mine. “Wait here,” he said with a sly smile before disappearing into another room.
Curious, I stayed where I was, looking around the familiar space. Moments later, Hans returned, holding a bouquet of roses and a small box.
“What’s this?” I asked, my brows lifting in surprise.
He shrugged, feigning nonchalance. “Just something to brighten your day.”
I laughed softly, taking the roses as he opened the box to reveal a delicate necklace with a teardrop–shaped. pendant
“It’s beautiful,” I murmured, touched by the gesture
*Not as beautiful as you,” Hans said, his voice soft. “You’ve been through so much, Felicity. I just want you to know that you’re not alone anymore. I’m here, and I’ll always be here.”
Tears pricked my eyes as I let him fasten the necklace around my neck. The pendant rested against my chest, a symbol of the fresh start I so desperately needed.
That night, Hans prepared a surprise dinner for us in the estate’s garden. Fairy lights twinkled above us, casting a warm glow over the table set for two. The air was filled with the scent of roses and the soft hum of music.
“This is perfect,” I said, my heart full as I took a sip of wine.
“Only the host for uni Hane relied his avec never leaving mine
Her Chart and begged When it too Late
“Only the best for you,” Hans replied, his eyes never leaving mine.
The evening was intimate, filled with laughter and the kind of quiet joy I hadn’t felt in years. After dinner, we stayed outside, wrapped in each other’s arms, watching the stars,
For the first time in what felt like forever, I allowed myself to hope for the future.
Weeks later, I woke up feeling slightly off. My stomach churned as I sat up, the lightheadedness catching me off guard. Brushing it off as exhaustion, I went about my day, but the feeling didn’t go away.
By the succeeding days, the nausea was undeniable. Hans noticed, his concern evident as he insisted I see a doctor.
Reluctantly, I agreed, and we made our way to the clinic. The doctor conducted a series of tests.
“Well?” I asked, anxiety creeping into my voice.
The doctor smiled warmly. “Congratulations. You’re pregnant.
1 froze, the words sinking in slowly. Pregnant.
Beside me, Hans’s face lit up with pure joy. “Are you serious?” he asked. “Am I gonna be a father?”
The doctor nodded, and Hans turned to me, taking my hands in his. “We’re going to be parents,” he said. Tears streamed down my face as I smiled, overwhelmed by a wave of happiness I hadn’t thought possible. “We’re going to be parents,” I echoed, my heart swelling with love for the man beside me and the life we were about to build together.
For the first time in forever, everything felt right
