Chapter 190
ED
Justin never looked for Lilian when preparing for Francesca’s funeral.}
Lilian found it odd, but she didn’t mind. She was about to get engaged to the heir of the Sterling Family.
The day of the engagement party was bright and sunny. Lilian wore a custom white dress adorned with elegance and jewelry. She looked every bit like a pampered little princess.}
A radiant smile graced her face as she walked gracefully, arm in arm with Billy Sterling, surrounded by the crowd of guests. Her every move was so dazzling that it was hard to look away.
This engagement party was something she had dreamed about for a long time.
Although the Sterlings were slightly less prominent than the Sutherlands, the difference wasn’t significant. Billy was honest and reliable, the kind of man she liked and he wouldn’t interfere with her having fun after marriage.”
She had finally become the “only daughter of the Jamesons,” the future daughter–in–law approved by Billy’s mother and the enviable darling of many.”
She even secretly fantasized that once the fuss died down, she might be able to win Justin back.}
After all, that man would come running back with just a flick of her finger.
She was highly pleased with herself.
Just as the guests raised their glasses in cheers and applause erupted …}
Bang!!
The window of the third–floor private room was flung open and countless photos rained down like snowflakes.
They scattered across every corner of the hall.
All of a sudden, the chatter ceased.
The photos were illuminated by the lights, making them extremely clear.
The heavily made–up girl was tangled with different men, hugging in a karaoke room, kissing backstage at a nightclub, clinging to someone’s neck, sitting on a man’s lap while fighting and swearing.}
“Is that Lilian?”
“These photos … she was doing all this before she turned eighteen, right?”
“Wow, she used to be wild!”
As soon as the photos hit the floor, whispers erupted like a tidal wave.
Lilian’s face turned ghostly pale.
She stared at the photos in disbelief. Never in her wildest dreams did she think that her carefully buried past would explode in her face like this, right at the peak of her moment in the spotlight?)
“Who, who did this?“}
She wanted to scream, but her voice cracked. Her legs were shaking so badly she could barely stand.”
Then came a calm but steady voice from a corner of the banquet hall.
“I did.”
Everyone turned toward the sound and saw a woman in a dark blue dress slowly approaching.”
“I’m Rosaline Darling. Back in high school, I was bullied so badly by Lilian that I nearly killed myself.“}
Her voice echoed through the mic and the entire room fell silent.
“She cut my hair in front of the whole class, stomped on my grandma’s photo and called me a worthless bitch. She made the other students line up to slap me across the face. She set my desk on fire with a lighter. She even had someone secretly take photos of me in the shower and shared them in a school–wide group chat, claiming I was trying to seduce her boyfriend.”}
“I thought I could move on after all these years, but seeing her pretend to be this sweet, innocent angel, surrounded by praise and admiration. I just couldn’t stay silent anymore.”
Rosaline’s eyes were red.
She pulled several documents from her bag, including school disciplinary records and hospital reports and signed testimonies from classmates and slammed them on the table.}
“You say you were wronged? Then what about us? The people whose lives you ruined?“}
Several more people walked out of the crowd. They were girls from other schools whom she had assaulted, deceived and drugged back then. Even a woman stood in the corner, pointing at Lilian and cursing.
“You slept with my younger brother when you were seventeen and swindled his money! He now has depression and is still seeing a therapist!“%
