I let out a soft sigh, giving her a sympathetic look.
“I’m sorry for your loss. But please, be polite next time.”
She swallowed hard. Zack still looked suspicious, but he didn’t push further.
I handed the rings to my manager and walked away, making my way back upstairs before my mask shattered completely.
Once I was in my office, I let out a shaky breath. My fingers dug into the desk as my body trembled.
From the window, I watched as they got back into their car. Tears blurred my vision as they drove away.

It hadn’t even been a month since the fake burial they held for me. And yet, here

“What’s wrong?” His tone sharpened.
“I’m fine,” I lied. “I’ll be home soon.”
Before he could press further, I hung up. I didn’t have the energy to explain.
By the time I arrived home, Asher was waiting for me at the entrance. The moment he spotted me, he rushed toward

“You scared me, Lena. What happened? Have you been crying?” He tilted my face tup, searching my eyes.
I forced a smile, but it didn’t reach my eyes. “I’m just tired, Asher. I need to mrest.”
“Who hurt you, sister?” Asher asked. This time, there was something different about his voice. Something that screamed
that he was ready to tear apart anyone caused me this pain.

on, okay? But it still hurts!”
“Is it Zack?” He asked.
“Is it that obvious?” I let out a dry chuckle.
“Tell me, what did he do?” Asher said as he led me to sit by the pavement.
“He and Serena were the VIP guests I had at the jewelry store today. They purchased their wedding ring. And Serena had a maternity band on,” I said plainly.
Asher was quiet for a while before he pulled me into his embrace, patting my back.
“I wasn’t sure whether to show you this,” he murmured, “but now, I think you need to see it.”
I pulled back slightly, confused. “Show me what?”
Asher stood, grabbing my hand. “Come inside.”

David‘ s expression darkened. “That‘ Zack‘ s profile on Tinder. He used a different identity but kept his face. He’s engaged to two other women in different countries.”
My breath hitched. “What?”
Asher held my hand and squeezed them lightly, as if preparing me for the worst.
David clicked on a chat window. Messages filled the screen. They looked romantic, affectionate, filled with promises.
From the date on the messages, he had been seeing this woman since we were together.
“David, are you sure?” My voice cracked.
“Yes,” he said grimly. “And there’s
more.”
