“Chelsea. I’m sorry, I. Magnus’s voice caught in his throat.
He couldn’t even finish his sentence. The weight of everything he had done hit him all over again, crushing his chest like a vise?
“Let me go, Magnus.”
Chelsea struggled against him, but his grip was too strong. No matter how hard she pushed, it was no use.
“I love you, Chelsea.” he whispered, tightening his hold as if he could keep her with those words alone.
His brows furrowed, his emotions spiraling. Then suddenly, his so–called love turned forceful. He kissed her. In the very next second, he let go, wincing in pain. “Ah–!!!

s eyes, now full of hurt, locked onto hers.
Blood stained his lip as he reached up and touched it, stunned. His eyes,
“Why, Chelsea? Why would you do that?”
Why?” she repeated, her voice cracking with restrained rage. “Magnus, you really want to ask me that? Then let me ask you–why did you treat me the way you did back then? You say you love me? What a joke. Is that what your love looks like?“! Tears, or maybe just the rain, streamed down her face as she stared at him with reddened eyes.
He tried explaining again. “It’s not like that, Chelsea. Please, let me explain-“}

He reached for her hand once more, but the words caught in his throat. What was there to say? How o everything he’d done?!

“Explain?” she scoffed, “I don’t need your excuses.
She ripped her hand free from his grasp.
But then, to her shock, Magnus dropped to his knees in front of her.
“Chelsea, I was wrong… everything I did was wrong. I’m begging you, forgive me!
His voice trembled, eyes rimmed red. But as Chelsea looked down at him, there was no emotion left in her heart, not even anger. Late apologies are cheaper than weeds. And love… she didn’t have it in her anymore. Not for him. Not after everything.! Without a word, she turned and walked back into their family villa,
The next morning, the rain had stopped. The lingering sound of water sliding from the roof was the one filling the quiet house. Chelsea took a deep breath as she got out of bed and headed downstairs for breakfast.
But just as she reached the dining room, a maid came rushing in, panic written all over her face.
“Miss! Something’s happened! Mr. Colon collapsed at the gate!!
Chelsea froze for a second, then followed the maid out the door!
There he was–Magnus, soaked to the bone, lying unconscious just outside her home. His cheeks were flushed with fever.!!
She rushed forward, her brow furrowed tightly, and pressed her hand to his forehead. The heat radiating off him made her pull back instinctively 2
He was burning up.
“Help me bring him inside!” she called out.
In the bedroom, Magnus lay in bed, mumbling her name over and over in a fevered daze.!!
Chelsea sat by his side, brows still knit together!!
The doctor had come earlier and said the fever was from being out in the rain all night.
She gently wiped the sweat from his forehead with a towel. Just as she was about to stand, his hand shot up and grasped hers tightly, his grip desperate even in his half–conscious state
“Chelsea don’t go please don’t leave me…
His words came out broken, but his hand squeezed hers harder, like letting go would mean losing her forever.”
Chelsea looked down at the man she had once loved with all her heart–the same man who had hurt her deeper than anyone else ever could

Then, his eyes slowly fluttered open, Bloodshot and hazy, they found hers.
“Chelsea don’t go…” he whispered again.
