Chapter 27%
Third Person POV
“You’re awake?”
As her sleepy eyes fluttered open, Chelsea found herself staring into Magnus’s smiling face. She instinctively shifted back a little…
His smile froze. He noticed the way she subtly pulled away.
“When did you get here?” he asked, voice a bit too casual.l
“It’s been a while,” she replied.
“Are you still planning to leave?“}
She nodded. “Yeah.”
“I heard… you’re marrying Alaric?”
“Mm–hmm.”
“Well congratulations on the wedding.”
Thank you.
Their exchange was brief, but it was all Magnus needed to know. All his hopes faded in an instant
She was really going to marry someone else. Her future no longer included him X
The silence between them stretched long and heavy, until suddenly the sound of glass shattering pierced through the air! Moments later, Michaela’s voice rang out in excitement
“Magnus! You’re awake!“!!
She ran in, nearly throwing herself into Magnus’s arms, sobbing uncontrollably. He looked down at her tear–streaked face and, despite everything, smiled.!
Maybe.. maybe this was enough.
Magnus had woken up. But unfortunately, the stab wound Gary left him with had severed a nerve, causing his lower body to be paralyzed. Before he was discharged from the hospital, Chelsea had already booked a flight. She was flying out the next day.
But before leaving the country, she paid one last visit to Sabrina, who was now in a psychiatric hospital.
Sabrina sat on her bed, hair disheveled, eyes dull and lifeless. She clutched a pillow in her arms, gently rocking it while holding a baby bottle, whispering softly as if lulling a child to sleep.
The woman who had once schemed relentlessly to ruin Chelsea’s life was now completely broken. All that remained was a pitiful shadow of a mother who had lost her child… and her sanity.
But in the end, this was the life she had brought upon herself
As Chelsea stepped out of the hospital, a light rain began to fall–gentle and misty, like spring wiping the slate clean.!!
She closed her eyes under the drizzle.!!
It was time to let go.
Everything that needed to end… could end now It was time for a new beginning.
When she opened her eyes again, there was a clarity in them that hadn’t been here before
Somewhere out there, in a different country, a man who had loved her for twenty-seven years was still waiting.
And she was finally ready to find her happiness with him.
The moment she stepped out of the airport, Alaric pulled her into his arms, holding her tight, eyes reddened. “Chelsea… You’re finally back. Do you know how much I regretted letting you go?” he whispered. “I was scared. Scared back. That you’d stay by Magnus’s side. That I’d lose you all over again-”
you wouldn’t come
hadn’t spoken aloud.
Before he could say another word, Chelsea leaned in and kissed him–soft, sure, and filled with all the emotion she ha As their lips met, Alaric finally closed his eyes.X
She came back. She was his again!!
And
every second of waiting had been worth it.!
One month later, the wedding between the Malcom and Schneider families became the talk of the city.
Alaric gave Chelsea a wedding that could only be described as legendary, lavish, romantic, and unforgettable.
As all eyes turned to the glowing bride, the soft voice of the officiant echoed through the venue.!!
“Mr. Alaric Malcom, do you take Miss Chelsea Schneider to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for all the days of your life?”
7 do.
“And Miss Chelsea Schneider, do you take Mr. Alaric Malcom to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, for all the days of your life?

Alaric looked at the woman who had filled his dreams for years. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her with all the love he had been holding onto.N
