Meanwhile, at Sabrina’s house, Magnus was carefully feeding her soup, one spoonful at a time.”
“You… you’re always like this he started to say, but before he could finish, his phone buzzed on the table nearby.
Without much thought, he picked it up. But the second his eyes landed on the screen, his hand froze–and the bowl slipped from his fingers, crashing to the floor and shattering into pieces.
It was a message from Chelsea.
[Chelsea: Magnus, if I could do it all over again, I’d rather never have fallen in love with you.]
Staring at the words, Magnus felt a sharp pain in his chest–dull, but deep.
“Magnus, what’s wrong?” Sabrina noticed the shift in his expression and tried to peek at his phone, but he quickly locked the screen.
“It’s nothing. My hand just slipped. I’ll go get you another bowl,” he said, standing up with a dazed look in his eyes.
But just as he tried to walk away, that same pain in his chest struck again, stronger this time. He lost his balance and fell back onto the couch.
“Magnus!” Sabrina rushed to steady him. She saw how pale his lips were and noticed the sweat beading on his forehead. Her brows. creased with worry.!!
It took a while, but eventually, Magnus managed to catch his breath.
“I’m fine,” he reassured her, patting her hand gently.”
“You sure?“I
“Yeah. Just sit tight. I’ll clean this up,” he said, forcing a small smile before heading to the kitchen,
Once inside, he paused and stared down at the wedding ring on his finger. For a long time, he didn’t move.
What did Chelsea’s message really mean? And why did reading it make his heart ache like he had lost something? After standing there in silence for a while, he finally poured another bowl of soup and returned to the living room.!!
“Magnus, will you stay the night?” Sabrina looked up at him with a smile as he came back. “It’s been a while since we spent time together. I want to be with you“?
“Alright,” he replied.
Hearing his answer, Sabrina finally relaxed. She knew Magnus had his reasons for marrying Chelsea back then, and that he’d always loved her instead. Still, she didn’t want to give him the chance to go back to that woman.!
to keep pretendi
Now that his family crisis had passed, the only thing left was to secure Chelsea’s family’s shares. There e was no need to to be married anymore.
Even though the drug hadn’t worked, there were plenty of other ways. As long as she could keep Magnus by her side, that was enough Later that night, Magnus lay in bed, tossing and turning. Sleep wouldn’t come.}}
Chelsea’s message kept replaying in his mind.
His brows were tightly furrowed. The uneasiness in his chest was growing stronger by the minute.
Finally, unable to take it anymore, he got out of bed and began getting dressed.
He needed to see her. He had to know what she meant by that message.
“Magnus, where are you going?” Sabrina’s soft voice broke through the quiet just as he was buttoning up his shirt.”
“I just remembered something I need to take care of at home,” he said. “Go back to sleep. I’ll be back soon.”
He was almost ready to leave when she gently grabbed his hand.
“Can’t it wait until morning?”
Her voice was soft, almost pleading. For a moment, Magnus’s heart softened–but then he reached out and lightly ruffled her hair.!! “Be good. I’ll be right back.”
He turned to leave, but once again, Sabrina stopped him.”
“Magnus… I know, she said quietly, her voice laced with something more.
“I know it’s hard for you tonight… I mean, I’m not in the best shape right now, so it’s normal that you can’t sleep…”
She looked at him with a meaningful smile.
“If you need something, you can tell me. I can help you ”
As she spoke, she slowly stepped out of bed.
