Her words made Charles freeze in place, his face turning pale instantly. He could not believe what he was hearing. He thought it must be a joke I had made up, so he could only look at her with impatience.
“Mum, Joanne is just making trouble again. You shouldn’t join her at your age! Funerals are not a joke. My son only had a minor surgery. He is lying safely in the hospital right now. Why are you here instead of visiting him?“%
