In less than half an hour, their car pulled up at the Clementson Bay Villa.
Perhaps it was because she no longer loved Jeremy, Joanna found that she didn’t feel any longing for this place even though she had lived in it for almost three years.
The only happiness she had ever had here were the rare moments Jeremy was gentle to her
in bed.
Jeremy had pretty strong urges, Unless he was away for a business trip or that Joanna was feeling unwell or menstruating, he would definitely spend the night with her.
Sometimes, doing it once or twice a night was still not enough. It was pretty normal for Jeremy to go on for at least two to three hours.
Dominic stopped the car in front of the main building. Then, Joanna got out of the car and entered the villa. She spotted Wendy, who was sipping tea leisurely in the living room almost instantly.
Polly stood next to her dutifully. She seemed so mindful of Wendy that she dared not even breathe too loudly.
“Mrs. Hansen.” Polly’s eyes lit up when she saw that Joanna had returned. It was as if she had just seen her savior,
Joanna cast a glance at Polly. Then, she greeted Wendy. “Hello, Wendy.”
“Joanna! Quick! Come and sit here.” Wendy put down her cup and patted lightly on the
seat next to her.
Joanna went over to her and sat down obediently.
Wendy took her hand. Her gaze fell on Joanna’s lower abdomen. “How are the babies? Did you feel uncomfortable anywhere in your body during the last few days?”
“I feel alright so far.” Joanna smiled softly like she usually would. “I went to the hospital and got another checkup. The doctor said everything looks stable now, so we don’t have to worry too much.”
“That’s wonderful news.” Wendy was visibly relieved. The smile on her face seemed much
more sincere now.
She patted the back of Joanna’s hand gently. “Joanna, I’ve always known that you’re al good child. You’re much more sensible and understanding than any women out there.”
Wendy was still smiling as she brought up another topic. “You know how Sean and I feel about Nadine. There’s no way she’ll ever compare to you, and she’s never going to achieve what she wants.

“Why did you even bother fighting with Jeremy over issues regarding her? You even moved out of this place. Aren’t you acting a bit too foolish now?”
“Wendy, Jeremy and I are planning to get divorced.” Joanna felt like she shouldn’t be

keeping Wendy in the dark anymore at that point.
“What?” Wendy got quite a shock. Her voice rose. “Did you agree to it just because Jeremy wanted that? What do you do about the babies If you two get a divorce now?
“I won’t allow it. I’m certainly against it. You must give birth to the babies.” Her expression hardened. “They are the Hansen family’s descendants.”
“Wendy, don’t worry. I will give birth to the-”
“How are you even certain that the babies she’s carrying are mine?” A deep, familiar voice that was devoid of any emotion could be heard coming from the front door, cutting Joanna
off.
Joanna and Wendy glanced over their shoulders in the voice’s direction.
With a frigid look on his face, Jeremy strode toward the pair. His gaze fell on Joanna, and he snickered. “What are you doing here if you’re so adamant about getting a divorce?”
Joanna met his eyes. She got up unhurriedly and gave him a slight smile. “You’re right, Mr. Hansen. I’ll leave right away.”
It wasn’t even 4:00 pm yet. Joanna didn’t expect Jeremy to come home at this hour.
“Mom, don’t worry. I’ll take care of the children and safely deliver them.”
After she had finished what she wanted to say, Joanna headed for the front door immediately. She didn’t even bother to spare Jeremy another glance or say another word to
him.
However, when Joanna was walking past him, Jeremy reached out and seized hold of her
wrist.
