“I thought you weren’t going to come.
By sheer coincidence, the camera panned over to them, lingering on their faces for two seconds before shifting away.
In the CEO’s office at Hansen Group headquarters, Jeremy sat in front of the TV, watching the live broadcast of Eterna Group’s product launch.
Since he was considering acquiring Eterna Group, this event–their biggest launch in five years—was something he needed to monitor.
But when the camera showed a clear shot of Joanna and Elliot whispering intimately, Jeremy’s dark eyes immediately turned stormy.
On the screen, Elliot cupped his hand near Joanna’s ear, saying something, while Joanna lowered her gaze slightly. Her face glowed with a soft smile, her beauty radiant and captivating.
Neither seemed aware that the camera had caught them.
Viewers watching the live stream quickly recognized Elliot and erupted with excitement Comments started flooding in.
“Wait, wait, did I just see Mr. Becker whispering to a gorgeous woman?”
“You’re not imagining it! The woman sitting next to Mr. Becker is stunning and so graceful. Could she be his rumored girlfriend?”
“Nooo! Mr. Becker is my dream husband. How can he have another woman? But honestly.. she’s so gorgeous. I give up.”
“If she’s really Mr. Becker’s girlfriend, he should just make it official! And let her endorse Eterna’s products!”
“If using Eterna’s products can make me look as beautiful as her, I wouldn’t care how much they cost!”
The stream of comments flashed across the screen, and Jeremy’s face grew darker by the second.
She hadn’t even divorced him yet, and here she was, seemingly eager to announce her relationship with Elliot.

His simmering anger boiled over, drowning out his rationality. Jeremy grabbed his phone and called Joanna.
At the launch event, Joanna had just accepted a bottle of water Elliot had opened for her and taken a sip when her silenced phone began buzzing in her pocket.
She handed the water back to Elliot and took out her phone. With one glance at the screen, she promptly declined the call before tucking it away.
But almost immediately, her phone buzzed again. Frowning, Joanna pulled it out once
more.
“What does he want?” Elliot asked, glancing at her phone.
Joanna shook her head, standing up. “I’ll step outside to take this.”
Elliot grabbed her wrist. “Why bother? What if he’s just calling to pick a fight again?”
At that moment, the camera briefly swept over the two of them once more, but they remained unaware.
Joanna smiled gently at Elliot and said softly, “What if he’s finally agreeing to the divorce?”
Elliot was momentarily speechless.
“Fine,” he relented, letting her go.
Joanna left the event hall and found a quiet spot to answer the call.
“Joanna Thompson, have you no shame? I’m not dead yet!” Jeremy’s furious voice. immediately burst through the receiver.
At that moment, Jeremy sat in front of the TV, having just seen the broadcast of Elliot grabbing Joanna’s wrist to stop her from answering the phone. He had witnessed everything, clear as day.
Joanna, however, simply thought Jeremy was being ridiculous. She hadn’t realized before how bad his temper truly was.
“And which incident are you referring to, Mr. Hansen?” she asked calmly.
