Chapter 46
In the first two years that Eterna Group had been founded, the Beckers hadn’t stopped wanting to screw with Elliot.
However, Eterna Group was too powerful, and the Beckers couldn’t afford to offend them. So, they stopped pulling off petty schemes behind Elliot’s back, allowing him and his company to grow.
Needless to say, Elliot had severed all ties with the Becker family. He no longer cared about their fates and vice versa.
Joanne chuckled bitterly at Elliot’s words. She looked at him and asked, “Do give a damn about how Jeremy treats me?”

Elliot looked at Joanna. Then, he raised his hand and caressed her head lovingly.
They shared a similarly tragic fate. Naturally, they appreciated each other deeply. They might not have been a family, but they were even closer to each other than most families
were.
Wendy was very satisfied with how obedient Joanna was. After all, she listened to her orders and moved back to the Hansen residence.
When it was night, Wendy asked the chefs to prepare some dishes that were suitable for pregnant ladies. She even personally called Jeremy and asked him to come home as well.
Jeremy was a little surprised when he learned that Joanna actually moved back to the Hansen residence. He was going through the divorce with her earlier. Naturally, he didn’t want her to move back there.
Now, however, something seemed to have subtly changed. Jeremy actually thought it was good to have Joanna back at the Hansen residence. At the very least, she wouldn’t be able to cheat on him with Elliot.
Jeremy drove back to the Hansen residence after work. He parked the car and walked through the main entrance.
Then, he noticed Joanna sitting on the couch in the living room. An old traditional medicine doctor with gray eyebrows and hair was checking her pulse.
Wendy was sitting next to them with an earnest expression. Needless to say, it wasn’t because of Joanna. Instead, it was because she was looking forward to the twins Joanna was carrying.
“How is it? Are the babies alright? Are they boys or girls?” Wendy asked the doctor.

He checked Joanna’s pulse on her left wrist before moving on to her right wrist. After A while, he let go of her with a smile and answered, “Judging by Ms. Joanna’s pulse, she’s probably pregnant with boy–girl twins.”
“Really?” Wendy let out an excited yelp and almost shot to her feet. “Boy–girl twins! That’s great. This is a first for the Hansen family. This is fantastic. Thank God for this!”
Wendy was just done talking when she heard a cold snort from where the door was.
“Welcome home, Mr. Hansen.”
The butler and the other household staff saw Jeremy and greeted him respectfully. The doctor also rose to his feet and did the same.
Jeremy walked into the living room with a blank expression and swept his cold glance over everyone before fixing it on Joanna. “Didn’t you say that you were tough? Where’s your

Joanna flashed Jeremy a smile. “What good is the backbone if I can’t support myself? Wouldn’t you agree?”
Jeremy scoffed. Instead of taking a dig at Joanna, which was out of his character, he turned his head sideways and asked the butler standing next to him, “Is dinner ready?”
“It’ll be done soon. I’ll go over and ask the chef to work faster,” the butler said with a smile,
Jeremy nodded slightly before heading upstairs. He used to be against letting Joanna return to the Hansen residence to focus on her pregnancy. Why was he not against her return now?
After Jeremy changed his clothes and came downstairs, dinner was already served. Everyone went to the dining room and took their seats.
