The night air was thick with tension, pressing against my skin like a suffocating weight. My heartbeat pounded in my ears, drowning out the distant rustling of leaves. Dean stood before me, his towering presence exuding raw power and unrelenting dominance. The way his dark eyes locked onto mine made my stomach churn.
I knew that look. Possession.
“You’re coming home with me,” Dean said, his voice smooth but laced with barely restrained anger.

I took a shaky breath and lifted my chin. “I don’t have a home with you.”
The words left my lips like a blade slicing through the air, sharp and unwavering.
Dean’s jaw tightened, his nostrils flaring. “Don’t test me, Hannah.” His voice dipped lower, a quiet, dangerous promise. “You don’t get to walk away. You are mine.”
The finality in his words sent a shiver down my spine.
But I wouldn’t back down.
I shook my head. “No, Dean. I was never yours. Not really. You just liked owning me.”
His expression darkened, his hands curling into fists at his sides. “You’re making a mistake.”
A sharp, bitter laugh escaped me. “The only mistake I made was ever believing you loved me.” The moment the words left my mouth, I saw something shift in his gaze. A flicker of something primal, something dangerous.
His hand shot out, gripping my wrist with bruising force. “You will obey me, Hannah.”
Before I could react, another voice sliced through the night.
“Let. Her, Go.”
Nathan.
I turned just as he stepped forward, his body tense, his stance ready for a fight. Blood dripped from the wounds slashed across his arms and torso, remnants of the battle he had just won against Dean’s wolves. His chest rose and fell heavily, but his eyes were steady, locked onto Dean with lethal intent.
Dean didn’t release me immediately. His grip tightened, his possessiveness seething through his pores. Nathan took another step closer, his voice a low growl. “I won’t say it again, Dean.”
Dean finally released my wrist, but his smirk was pure arrogance. “You think you can challenge me?” He scoffed. “You’re weaker than me, Nathan. You always have been.”
Nathan didn’t flinch. He didn’t hesitate.
He challenged him.
“If I win,” Nathan said, his voice clear, firm, deadly, “Hannah comes with me. You don’t touch her. You don’t chase her. You don’t claim her ever again.”
A jolt of shock ran through me.
“No,” I gasped, stepping forward. “Nathan, don’t do this! He’ll kill you!”
Nathan barely glanced at me. His eyes, usually so warm, were filled with cold, unshakable resolve. “I’d rather die protecting you than let him take you back.”
His words struck me like a punch to the gut.
Dean let out a dark, amused chuckle. “You really think you stand a chance?”
Nathan’s lips curled into a smirk. “Let’s find out.”
Before I could stop them, Dean shifted.
It was fast–too fast. His form exploded into a massive black wolf, fur bristling, teeth bared. The sheer pow radiated sent a wave of fear through me.
Nathan didn’t hesitate.
He shifted just as fast, his wolf slightly smaller but just as fierce. The moment his paws hit the ground, he lunged.
The fight was brutal.
Teeth clashed, claws tore into flesh, growls echoed in the dead of night. Nathan fought with everything he had, but Dean was relentless. Every strike, every attack, came with the force of an Alpha who refused to lose.
I watched in horror as Nathan was thrown to the around, a pained velp escaping him as Dean’s fangs sank into

his shoulder.
“No!” I screamed, rushing forward. “Please, stop!”

Nathan’s wolf twisted, forcing Dean off, but I could see it–the way his legs trembled, the deep gashes along his side. He was losing.
“Stop!” I cried out, tears burning my eyes. “I’ll go back! Just stop fighting!”
Nathan’s wolf let out a sharp growl, his head snapping toward me. His eyes–those same piercing eyes–were filled with a silent plea.
No.
He wasn’t going to let me surrender.
Dean lunged again, but this time, Nathan was ready. With a desperate burst of strength, he dodged the attack and sank his fangs into Dean’s throat.
A howl of agony tore through the night.
For a moment, everything froze.
Dean’s body hit the ground, blood dripping from his neck. Nathan towered over him, his own chest heaving, his fur soaked in sweat and blood. He had won. But he didn’t kill him.
Slowly, painfully, Dean shifted back to human form, his breath ragged, his body trembling from the wounds. His dark eyes locked onto Nathan, filled with raw, uncontained rage.
Nathan stepped back, shifting back into his human form, his body littered with wounds. He glared down at Dean, his voice rough, but filled with victory.
“I won,” he said. “She’s coming with me.”
Dean said nothing. He didn’t move.
He just lay there, defeated.
Nathan turned to me, his expression softening. “Let’s go.”
I hesitated for a brief moment, my gaze flickering to Dean. He was watching me now, his face unreadable. But his eyes–those dark, furious eyes–burned with something terrifying.
Vengeance.
He wasn’t done. This wasn’t over.
A shiver ran down my spine, but I pushed the fear aside. I took Nathan’s hand, his warmth grounding me, and together, we turned our backs on Alpha Dean.
We walked away, leaving him bleeding on the road.
But as I glanced back one last time, I knew
Dean wouldn’t forget this.
And he wouldn’t forgive it.
This wasn’t the end.
This was just the beginning of something much, much worse.
