12: Max’s Arrest (1)
**Third Person POV***
Max’s anger surged as he shoved Violet aside, his voice trembling with fury. “Who the hell do you think you are, talking to my wife like that?”
“Your wife? She is gone Max?” Violet said with a confused expression. She was expecting him to be finally happy that she
was gone.
“Gone? If I don’t find my wife because of you, I swear I won’t let you off.” Max said in an icy tone.
Shock and desperation flickered across Violet’s face. “But Max, shouldn’t you be happy? She’s out of the picture now. We can be together, especially with our child.”
“Child?” Max’s eyes blazed with contempt.
Violet‘ s composure wavered, but she tried to maintain her defiance. “Max, she‘ s

gone. She left you. Why are you still chasing after her? We have a future. together as a family!” She placed a hand on her stomach, her face expression pleading.
Max let out a bitter laugh that startled Violet. “A family? Don’t kid yourself, Violet. You mean nothing to me.”
Her eyes widened, shock and hurt flashing across her face. “What are you saying?”
“You mean nothing to me. You were just a convenient distraction for my sexual
pleasure, It was never love, Violet. It was a
transaction. That’s all it’s ever been.”
“What?” Tears welled in Violet’s eyes as she shook her head in disbelief. “But we’ve
known each other since childhood. We
were meant to be together.”
Max rolled his eyes at her, clenching his jaw. “And that’s your problem. You‘ ve been living in some fantasy while I was destroying the only thing that mattered to
me.”

- Max’s Are
Violet staggered back, shocked at the words Max was saying, “Tell me, is this some sort of joke?” She paused and observed his expression.
“But…we’ve known each other since we were kids. We were meant to be together. I’ve always loved you, Max!” she said stepping forward to touch him.
Max’s expression hardened and he took her hands off him. “Get your hands off me!”
He yelled at her. “The only person I was meant to be with is my wife. And now, because of you, she’s gone.”
Violet reached out again, her voice trembling. “Max, please…” She said in a pleading tone.
He stepped back firing her a cold gaze “Stay away from me, Violet. This is over.”
He leaned in, his voice dropping to a cold whisper. “If I can’t find my wife, Violet, you’d better pray I never see you again. Because I’ll make sure you regret every

second of this.”
Violet stood in that spot, tears streaming down her face as Max turned and walked away, his mind consumed by one thought: finding Cassie, no matter what it took.
Max turned and walked away without another word leaving Violet standing alone, her world crumbling around her.
Just as he turned around to walk out on her, Violet yelled at him. “You won’t hurt me, Max,” she taunted, her voice filled with venom. “Not when I’m carrying your child! Or have you forgotten that?” She asked trying to use the baby as a leverage, hoping to convince him.
Max‘ s rage boiled over as Violet’s smug words hit him like a hammer.
The words echoed in his mind, a storm of rage filled his heart. In that moment he was overwhelmed with fury, his eyes fell on the golf club propped against the wall and without a second thought, he grabbed it.

“You ruined my life!” he bellowed, his voice raw with unbridled rage.
Violet’s confidence faltered as she took a cautious step back seeing the golf stick in his hands. “Max, calm down…”
But he didn’t hear her. All he could feel was anger, he was filled with rage at her manipulation, and the fact that his marriage scattered because of her.
He swung the golf club, the first blow landing with a sickening thud. Violet screamed, collapsing to the ground as onlookers that just rushed to the scene gasped in horror. People nearby rushed forward, shouting for him to stop, but Max was deaf to their pleas.
Max’s grip tightened around the golf club, his knuckles white as he raised it above his
head.
“Max, stop!” Violet screamed, scrambling backward, her voice trembling with fear. “You‘ re not thinking straight!”
