Chapter 5
The Thorne family had always loved luxury, and the Vegas prince’s wedding was no exception.]
The old man dropped serious cash to buy an entire estate just for this wedding. From the moment you walked in, high–end flowers like hydrangeas and lily of the valley in white and soft pink lined both sides, with crystal–studded archways made of flower arrangements leading all the way to the ceremony pavilion.[]
All the A–listers were there, making small talk and waiting for the wedding to start.
Only the groom looked like a storm cloud, totally out of place.

He kept checking his watch, his eyes dark and unreadable. “Has Melody shown up yet?”
His assistant shook his head respectfully. “Mr. Thorne, we haven’t seen Miss Melody yet.“[]
“What the hell is she doing? Didn’t I tell her not to be late? She just had to throw a tantrum today of all days. I’ll deal with her later.“[
Twenty more minutes passed.[]
The wedding was about to start.[]
Camden looked around–still no sign of Melody. His expression got uglier by the minute.
When the music began, everyone quieted down. Scarlett emerged from the castle in a Berta wedding gown, the lace and pearl–decorated mermaid dress absolutely stunning, her radiant smile lighting up her face. All the guests stood up smiling and applauding.
As Scarlett slowly walked forward, she noticed Camden’s anxious state and felt secretly pissed.
She reached out with her delicate hand, tugging at the corner of his jacket. “Camden, let’s start with the vows. Melody’s probably just throwing another fit.“]
But Camden didn’t budge. His gaze fell on Scarlett’s slender fingers, but suddenly all he could see was Melody’s swollen, festering hands.
He felt something slipping away fast from deep inside his heart.]
A nameless panic spread through his chest.]
Suddenly, Camden shoved Scarlett away.[]
It was the first time since his rebirth that he’d rejected Scarlett.]]
“We’re postponing the wedding until Melody gets here.”
“But…“]
“Listen to me!”
Camden practically roared those words, then turned and ran toward the entrance.
Scarlett looked down with hurt in her eyes, tears streaming as she lifted her dress and chased after him.
Everyone stood there stunned, not understanding what the hell was happening.]]
Just as Camden ran outside, he heard the security guards talking: “How come the boss’s wedding hasn’t started yet? It’s already so late.”
“I heard they’re waiting for Melody.“]
“Melody? Didn’t the young master lock her in the sauna room? I haven’t seen her come out since yesterday, Don’t know how she’s doing–nobody dared to go check without the boss’s orders…“]
“What the fuck did you just say?!”
Camden’s eyes went blood red like a rabid animal as he grabbed the guard by the collar.[]
“Melody never came out of the sauna room?“]
The guard nodded shakily. “Yeah, Miss Melody was screaming in there for a long time, then it went quiet. Without your orders, we didn’t dare go look…“[
No way, that’s impossible!]
Camden stumbled back two steps.]
He’d specifically told Scarlett that the sauna temperature was too high–five minutes of punishment would be enough.]
And Scarlett had promised him she’d let Melody out after five minutes.]

“How dare you!“]
Veins bulged at his temples as he threw Scarlett to the ground, startling all the bodyguards.[]
Camden didn’t give a damn about his wedding anymore. He ripped off his jacket, threw it on the ground, and ran off
Seeing this, Scarlett frantically scrambled up from the ground, grabbing his arm. “Camden, where are you going? This is our wedding!
“Get fuck off me!”
By then, Camden was utterly furious, his eyes completely red like a demon from hell.]
Scarlett got so scared she had to let go.
Camden sprinted all the way back to the mansion, stumbling up to the second floor. The closer he got, the weaker his legs became. He fell several times before reaching the sauna room door.]
