There was no sign of Melody in the sauna room, just bloodstains.]
Camden let out a sigh of relief.]
“Melody, where are you? It’s me–come out, I’ll take you to the hospital!“]
He shouted my name at the top of his lungs.
The butler came running at the sound, surprised. “Young master, isn’t today your wedding? What are you doing here?“]
Camden ignored him, obsessively asking, “Where’s Melody? Did you see her?”
“Miss Melody? Didn’t her husband take her away?“]
Camden’s face went white with shock. “Husband? Wh… what husband?!“]
“That mute driver, the one you personally picked for her. He took Miss Melody away.“[]
At those words, Camden’s vision went black and he nearly collapsed.]
That was just something he’d said to piss Melody off]
Even though he’d been reborn and successfully changed his past life’s ending by getting his marriage license with his beloved Scarlett, ever since he’d watched Melody concede at the poker table, his heart felt like it had a gaping hole–he’d been on edge ever since.[]
Melody was his. Even if she was selfish, evil, and venomous, even if she couldn’t be his wife, she should still stay by his side forever.[]
What right did some disfigured mute broke ass driver have to take Melody away?]
With that, Camden punched the door, murder flashing in his eyes. “Find her! Everyone go find her and bring Melody back to me!“[]
He didn’t know why, but even though Scarlett was the one he loved, right now all he could think about was Melody’s face.[]
He wandered into Melody’s bedroom like a lost soul.]
On the nightstand sat a photo.]
In the picture, a shy young girl leaned against a proud, rebellious boy, a bashful smile on her face–it was a photo of him and Melody.[]
Camden traced the photo absently, suddenly remembering that he and Melody had been in love once.[]
But when had those feelings started to go bad?]
It seemed like it was when his older brother brought Scarlett home.]]
Scarlett was lively and cheerful–completely different from Melody.[]
The first time he saw Scarlett, he couldn’t help being drawn to her. Plus she was his brother’s wife, which stirred up this twisted mix of impulse and possessiveness that festered in his heart.
But he’d never thought about abandoning Melody.]
If Melody hadn’t been so vicious, deliberately cheating and causing Scarlett’s death, he wouldn’t have punished her like that in his past life.[]
Thinking about his previous life, Camden suddenly snapped back to reality and quickly put down the photo.]
But his gaze accidentally caught sight of Melody’s neck in the photo–she was wearing a necklace.]
Wasn’t this the same necklace Scarlett had mentioned last night? How could it have been around Melody’s neck so early?]
A chill ran down his spine, making Camden’s heart freeze.]
He immediately called the butler back and demanded to see the mansion’s security footage.[]
In the video, he clearly saw Scarlett sneaking into Melody’s room last night, her expression twisted with malice as she threatened and mocked Melody when they ran into each other.
Finally, she staged her own fall down the not very high stairs.]
Camden’s face drained of all color. He couldn’t believe that Scarlett, who was always so gentle and sweet to him, private.
If she’d framed Melody about this, what about everything else?]

Camden didn’t dare think about it anymore. He frantically rushed to the wedding to find Scarlett and get some answers.
But at the entrance, he heard Scarlett inside on the phone, her mocking voice coming through loud and clear:]
Dad, Camden actually went looking for that little bitch. He canceled the wedding, but whatever–I already got the marriage license with him. I’m the only Mrs. Thorne, and all the Thorne family wealth is ours. Originally I had my eye on Camden’s older brother, but that short–lived bastard caught me cheating, so I couldn’t let him live. Had to set up that car accident to kill him.”
How did I deal with Melody? Hah, that fucking idiot didn’t need much handling. I moved the washing machine, deliberately gave her torn clothes to wash, and that was enough to make Camden punish her by washing clothes all night. And that little beast–I nearly beat it to death but it still wouldn’t bite me, so I had to scratch myself. Camden totally believed me and had it skinned to make me a scarf.“[]
Oh, and yesterday I deliberately didn’t rescue Melody. I even turned up the sauna temperature. Don’t know if that little bitch died in there–hopefully she did. If she doesn’t die and Camden changes his mind someday, we’ll be the ones who end up dead. After all, if I get kicked out of the Thorne family, our enemies won’t let us go–they’ll definitely kill me…“[]
