Chapter 14
Yara wasn’t hard to find. Her hometown was in Husten. Everyone knew she had stayed in Jedo for Bryce’s sake.
Bryce booked the earliest flight and made his way straight to the Spencer residence.
Richard liked Yara because she came from a family just as wealthy. The Spencers had a solid foundation in Husten, making their status equal to the Daltons‘. Besides, Yara had always been devoted to Bryce. She cared for him in every possible way, and even helped out with the Dalton family’s business. That was why Richard had sent Bryce to bring her back.
In everyone’s eyes, Yara was just having a tantrum, and they all believed that if Bryce humbled himself and apologized, she would come back to him. Bryce and Yelena both thought that was how things would turn out.
But when Bryce reached the Spencer residence and was stopped at the entrance, his brow furrowed in disbelief.
“Didn’t you hear me? I’m Bryce Dalton. I’m here for Yara. Let me in. Since when does a butler get to decide who can enter the Spencer residence?”
The butler, Peter Ellison, shook his head, standing firmly in Bryce’s way so he couldn’t step inside.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Dalton. This is what the Spencer family wants. Since the divorce, both Mrs. Spencer and Ms. Spencer has made it clear they don’t want to see you.” “That’s impossible!” Bryce blurted out, his face full of shock. He couldn’t believe that the first thing he encountered in Husten was being blocked at the door. Just as Bryce’s frustration was building, Peter suddenly bowed. “Ms. Spencer, welcome back.”
Bryce turned around and saw Yara standing behind him.
He barely had time to feel happy to see her before noticing a stranger standing beside her, holding her arm.
Bryce marched over, his face full of anger.
“Yara, I came all this way for you, and this is how you treat me? Are you really not planning to get back together?”

The man at her side gave a mocking smile. Yara looked at him, her eyes which had seemed so gentle just a moment ago, now turning cold.
“I never said I wanted to get back together. I thought I’d made myself very clear. Bryce, we’re divorced.”
Hearing that left Bryce stunned. He had never imagined that when they finally met again, this would be how she acted.
In his mind, as long as he showed up, Yara would have rushed back to him, eager to reconcile, instead of treating him so coldly.
It felt as if a needle had pierced his chest. He grabbed Yara’s wrist and pulled her close, his eyes icy and full of anger.
“Is it because of him? We’ve only been divorced a short time and you already have someone new? What is it, Yara? You couldn’t have me, so you just went and found another man? I never realized you were so desperate!”
He sneered, casting a scornful look at the man beside her. “So, how many times have you slept with him? If you come back and marry me again, I’ll take you to bed immediately. Isn’t that what you want?”
Bryce kept going, but Yara yanked her hand out of his grasp and slapped him hard across the face.
Her eyes weren’t just cold anymore–they were full of disdain and disgust.
“Bryce, you make me sick. The only reason you came to find me is for Yelena. You’ve always wanted to be with her. I’m out of the way now. Isn’t that what you wanted?”
So, she had known the truth all along.
bryce pressed a hand to his face, his expression dark and conflicted, He finally took a long, serious look at Yara.
He hadn’t expected her to change so much in just two months. She looked even more beautiful than before.
Yelena always seemed like a little girl, but Yara had always been calm and elegant. Now, her presence was even inore striking, nothing like the busy housewife he remembered.
Bryce steadied himself and spoke in a low voice. “Lena is your best friend and my sister, Even if you’re cutting me off, you shouldn’t hurt her.”
The mention of Yelena made Yara’s expression waver for a moment, but then she laughed bitterly.
She had once thought of Yelena as her best friend, but what had Yelena done to her?
