The next day, I found a divorce agreement at the door. Vincent had finally signed it.
A few days later, a massive sum of money appeared in my account–billions.
Jared rushed to me, holding his phone, looking astonished.
I read the news on the screen:
The wife of a Long Enterprises Group heir, who had been missing for a year, was found dead in the basement of her husband’s younger cousin. the screen.
The wife of a Long Enterprises Group heir, who had been missing for a year, was found dead in the basement of her husband’s younger cousin. Her body was discovered in a horrific state, with a large wound on her abdomen. The fetus is missing and additional tissue was found in her stomach. Preliminary findings suggest…]
“Vincent, the CEO of Long Enterprises, has confessed to the murder of his cousin’s wife, admitting to the crime. He also revealed that he had colluded with the woman, repeatedly administering abortion pills to his pregnant ex–wife, causing her to suffer multiple miscarriages…”
“The first trial has sentenced Vincent to death. His parents collapsed at home and have been rushed to Vanguard Medical Center for treatment. Kenneth has officially taken over as the CEO of Long Enterprises. The company’s stock has plummeted, with estimated losses…”
Jared stared at the news in shock, stammering, “Vincent has lost his mind, hasn’t he?”
I kept my eyes on the balance in my account, staying silent for a long while.
In the end, I decided to keep the money and established the Child Hope Foundation, as a way to pay respects for my children. I wished, if they were ever to be born again, they’d be born in a much better family.
The script I made was eventually completed without a hitch. Both Jared and I made a fortune and we celebrated our success at home with toasting wine.
As the alcohol took hold, Jared asked me, “Will you be sad if Vincent dies?”
Through the haze of drunkenness, for a moment, I thought I saw the day Vincent and I took our wedding photos.
Our heads were leaning together, full of hopeful dreams for the life ahead.
When I opened my eyes again, I realized it was just my drunken illusion.
I shook my head, laughing with a tipsy grin.
“Past memories are hard to revisit, it’s better to just move on.
(The End)
